As you know, cats don't love to close to human as much as dogs.

She's waiting for me cooking her meal. (^.^)

My cat really love me and she really care about me no matter what. I will sketch her cute poses by simple letters like A or C on CSP Simple Mode.

Also create sticker files from her poses.

My notices during the process

In my article, I only focus on points that will help us a lot during the process.

If you are on Studio mode, click Clip Studio Paint symbol on the left corner above to open this tab.

When you click on [Switch to Simple Mode] this board will appear.

You can adjust your canvas size or choose the defaults.

And here is DEFAULT interface of Simple Mode.

1. Click […] on the right corner above to open [Menu].

2. [Brush tool]

3-4. Adjust brush size and opacity directly on screen.

Here is the [Menu] list.

Click on [Preferences and Help] you can

1. Choose Light or Dark interface by turn on/off this button.

Here is the Light ver. [I chose Dark mode]

2. Switch the position of [Layer palette] and [Tool bar] based on your habit.

Drawing process

To protect my nibs from being worn, I avoid drawing stroke by stroke or erasing by rub the nib away too much.

Here are ways that I used to erase stuff also coloring.

Sketch - How I erase stuff without using eraser brushes

First, I draw letter A and C to frame the poses.

Based on my cat images, I draw the rough poses.

Using Lasso tool as eraser

1. Use [Lasso tool] to choose ranges you wanna eliminate. You can choose many ranges at once.

2. Then choose [Cut]

3. All ranges will be moved into new layer.

4. Click [Delete].

Line art - Clean the sketch

Actually, this step is the way I define shapes more clean and detailed than the sketch a little bit.

My line is really loose.

1. Long press to open the [Layer setting]

2. Decrease layer sketch's opacity.

3-4. Click [+] symbol to add new layer for line art.

 

 

Here is the final ver for line art.

Cause of that, this step will effect your [Color] step.

There are 2 ways for line art also coloring.

1. If you have clean and closed border lines, [Fill tool] is the right choice for your coloring.

2. If you have a sketchy lines like me, [Lassotool] & [Filltool] is the best combination.

Color - Tool to speed up the process

1. I use Pencil brush, so the line really light and loose.

2. When I use the [Fill tool] and turn OFF [Close gap] button, color will spread out all screen.

3 - 4. However, when I turn on [Close gap], there is still a blank space.

[So you need to open the tool setting then adjust [Tolerance] if tolerance high, color will be full fill.

5. If you don't adjust [Tolerance] and still use [Fill tool], color will spread out like this.

6. Cause my lines are so loose, so I use [Lasso tool] for more convenient.

7. Then I use [Fill tool] to color and all the shape will be fullfil.

The great thing is you can choose many ranges to color at the same time.

But you need to hide the line layer to make sure color all pixels.

[Cause fill tool won't fill at ranges that drawing line :”<]

And here is the result.

Shading

I will shade directly on the color layer by turn on [Lock transparent pixels]

1. [Lock transparent pixel] is really convenient to use at this position.

2. There is a symbol like this to mark layers already locked, so you can realize your layer better.

Or you can open the layer setting to choose [Lock transparent pixels]

I use [Lasso tool] to choose ranges for shadows and color them purple.

Creating sticker

After coloring, I hide the Paper layer to make transparent images.

Then choose [Border] from the setting of the color layer.

Turn on the button.

Then adjust the thickness and color of edges.

Export file

There are 2 ways to export files

1. Share

2. Save to device

Share

Click […] to open [Menu]

Choose [Export image]

Choose [Share]

This board will appear.

Click [Share] button.

Now you can share anywhere you want to.

Save to device

Instead of choosing [Share], let's choose [Save to device]

This board will appear.

Click [Save] button.

And DONE.
