VIDEO
Please watch the video for better understanding... Explaining through text and images will be confusing in this tutorial.
INTRODUCTION
Hello everyone, I'm a Illustrator, concept artist, comic artist and 2d animator as a freelancer
In this video I will show a easy method to animate a cute Cat
In this tutorial I will use the Galaxy Tab s7 to work. But don't worry, basically clip studio is the same on all devices like (Tablets, smartphones, Mac and PC)
SKETCH
To begin, we will sketch the cat using two geometric figures, we will simulate that we are drawing 2 rice cakes, one behind the other
now let's shape it to really look like a cat
After being satisfied, let's go into detail. I used a standard Clip Studio brush (pencil) to give it that traditional drawing look.
ANIMATING
Now let's start by animating our kitten's tail.
in a new folder, separate from the body folder, we will use it to animate our tail, we will need 3 layers to give life to the tail
Layer A1 - where will be the initial pose of the tail (since we will use the pose to pose method in the animation)
Layer A3 - is the second layer where we will draw the final pose
Layer A2 - This layer will be between layers A1 and A3, in short you will activate the onion skin and draw between these two layers
NOTE: in total you will need to make 6 drawings, one with the tail moving from right to left and another from left to right, as shown in the image below
Once you are satisfied, you will draw between all the layers until the animation is smooth, and you will have a result identical to the image below.
continue drawing between the layers and you will have a result worthy of an animation
After you are satisfied with the animation, we can start painting the entire drawing in a different folder.
I prefer to create a folder to paint only the body and a different folder to paint the tails
and in the end you will have this result
This was a summary of the video, I advise you to watch it because it contains more details, you will see the timeline and the folders created
