Hello everyone!

I'm 🙃 (sakasamanoatama), a hobbyist manga artist!

This time, I'll explain step-by-step some easy and time-saving techniques I use when drawing manga, which also help create beautiful manuscripts!

1. Adding Gradients

Fill bucket is indispensable for both illustrations and manga, but it can look a bit bland on its own. So, I apply gradients with a large airbrush. It's very easy and saves time, and it instantly boosts transparency, so I highly recommend it.

2. Prepare a Color Palette

Also, by creating a color palette like this, you won't need to create colors from scratch every time, which makes your work more efficient.

When using the same character or clothing, you'll need to use specific colors, but it's tedious to compare with past manuscripts and eyeball the same color every time.

So, I highly recommend organizing your frequently used colors beforehand.

3. Use the 'Fill enclosed area' Tool for Shadows

Adding shadows is crucial in manga, but manually filling them with a pen tool can be a bit inefficient.

Therefore, when filling shadows, try using the 'Fill enclosed area' tool within the 'Fill' tool.

As its name suggests, this tool fills the area enclosed by a lasso with the selected color.

'Fill enclosed area' is extremely useful for streamlining your workflow.

4. Use the 'Universal Glossy Solid Tapering Pen'

This is a matter of preference, but I like adding highlights to hair.

However, creating beautiful glossy shapes manually is difficult and time-consuming.

Therefore, let's use the free material 'Universal Glossy Solid Tapering Pen' available for download on ASSETS.

Using this pen, you can easily draw natural, professional-looking highlights.

It saves me a lot of trouble by eliminating the need for repeated redrawing.
