So , we’re blessed to have a large variety of assets in clip studio! It is one of the reason i chose this program in the first place. I mostly use brushes i found in the assets so I’m going to show you what are the ones i use often. I’ll show what assets i use next to my own artworks to show you how it looks.

Painting brushes!

This is a brush i recently discovered, it’s really nice to use and blends the colors nicely. I’ve only been using it for a short time but i know it’s going to become one of my favorite!

Watercolor brushes are a classic!

I love how they feel so soft.

They’re perfect for color blending as well and they’re basically a must-have!

Bristle like brushes are really nice , unlike the previous brushes they’re way rougher and i like that about them!

Usually they’re not used to blend colors but i adjust their setting so that they can.

These brushes can be used for sketching and painting. They’re low opacity so they allow to give a “multi layer” effect. I wouldn’t know how to really describe them. They’re a bit weird to use at first but they’re nice to draw faces and clothes!

Sketch brushes!

These are pencils that are on the rougher side. They feel really nice and look neat when you reduce the brush size.

Now , I use these ones when i want to draw a more refined sketch that can almost pass as a lineart. I really like how rough they feel!

Lineart!

I don’t line-art often but when i do i go for these pens. I usually like line-art pens who are rough rather than soft.

And i really like to use the gaussian blur with line-art!

Bonus ~

Well i thought it’d be nice to show you some assets i use that i don’t use to directly draw characters but that are useful nevertheless!

If you read my other TIPS you know that i have a burning passion for gradients! I really love how they can change the colors and the atmosphere!

These go in handy when drawing a character’s outfit. They save you a lot of time !
