Life comparison

This time, the general proportions are 7 to 8 for men and 6 to 7 for women. In comparison, the mini character (CHIBI) has a simplified body and an extremely small body.

Mini-characterization (CHIBI) point ②

The second point is to inherit the facial features.

■ The above illustration is a character with "falling eyebrows", "dark circles", and "beard", so the same characteristics will be inherited when it is made into a mini character (CHIBI).

 

If there are other features such as "long nose", "thick eyebrows", "cat-like mouth", "horns", and "pointed ears", be sure to reflect them in the mini character (CHIBI).

 

■ It would be nice to draw the character's equipment together.

Separate drawing of 2 life and 3 life

Next, let's look at how to draw 2 life and 3 life.

① The lower the life, the stronger the roundness

If you look at the illustration above, you can see that the "hair tips", "contours", and "eyes" are more rounded in the 2 life characters than in the 3 life characters.

 

② The lower the life, the simpler

2 Pay attention to the hair of the life character. You can see that the hair bundles are omitted compared to the 3 life characters. 2 Life characters should reduce the amount of drawing as a whole.

 

③ The taller you are, the slimmer your body will be.

3 Life-like characters will have a tighter body shape.

④ The taller the life, the gentler the horizontal S-shaped line (blue).

■ Ear position (yellow) = behind the vertical centerline of the face and below the horizontal centerline.

■ Chest width and waist width (green) = The waist is wider than the chest.

■ Back, buttocks, calf position (red) = Back, buttocks, calves are on the same line.

■ Hand length (red) = slightly longer than the inseam.

⑤ The lower the life, the more the lower pine is represented by "dots".

By drawing the eyelashes with "dots", the amount of drawing is reduced.

Face line

■ The face is facing "diagonally", "front", and "sideways" from the left.

Position of facial parts

■ The face parts of the mini character (CHIBI) are located below the center line. (Red line)

■ As a guide, the position of the eyes is the position where the chin tip is bisected from the center line. (Blue line)

■ Compared to the 3 life character, the 2 life character has the facial parts closer to the bottom. (Green line)

The shape of the hand

From the left, the hands are "normal," "fan-shaped," "rectangular," and "barrel-shaped."

■ Fan shape = The line spreads toward the tip.

■ Rectangle = straight line with little line movement (wave).

■ Barrel type = The line swells in the middle and dents toward the tip.

① The lower the life, the more rounded.

Compared to the 3 life character, the 2 life character has more rounded eyes, ears, and head lines. Enlarging the ears and eyes will make them even more cute.

 

② The lower the life, the smaller the muzzle.

2 Draw the muzzle short and small so that the life-like character looks more childish.

 

③ The lower the life, the less the drawing.

Two life characters are made up of minimal information. If you omit the details, the illustration will be organized.
