Hey! Would you like to draw a character in the steampunk style, but you don't know how? Well I will help you! Remember, you’re here to have fun!

1) Ideas and/or models

First of all, to draw your character, you need an idea or a model.

Of course you can invent it, your imagination is welcome!

2) Geometric shapes

To help you draw, you will have to sketch geometric shapes.

They will help you visualize the shape of your body.

For the head, you are going to make a circle or a rectangle (which will be more practical for forming your head), slightly at the bottom, you are going to draw a trapezoid to which you are going to stick 2 circles for the shoulders and cylinders for the arms. I advise you to use pencil. (Attention! If you draw a 3/4 character, one of your 2 circles for the shoulders must be smaller)

3)Trace it

This step is very simple. You're just going to outline your shapes. Do it on a layer other than your sketch. (If you draw a girl, you can add shapes to her)

4) Clothes

In steampunk style, clothes often have mechanical objects like gears. Of course you can use a model to help you.

5) The face

For the face, I advise you to make 4 lines: the first will be located towards the chin but not too close either, you will add one slightly above the first: between them, you will draw your mouth. Then, you will add one spaced the width of the first 2 lines: this will be for the nose. And finally, you will add one always spaced apart from a mouth: this will be for the eyes. Your ears will start from your eyes and end at your nose. Of course, don't forget to change layers for all the steps!

6) Hair

For the hair, do whatever you want: you can make her hair short, long, tied up... Also make lights and shadows! This will give more of a hair texture

7) Accessories!

For accessories, have fun! You can make him a hat with or without accessories (such as feathers, clocks, gears, etc.)

8) Tracing

When you've finished everything, you can take a pen to go over all your lines! If there are things that you didn't put in the draft but you want to add, you can do so now!

9) Color!

Add color to your character. Give it shadows, lights... Remember to change layers from time to time so that the color isn't all on the same layer! (for example, create a layer for the clothes, another for the face, etc…

10) (Background)

You don't have to make one! But it will highlight your character.

If you don't have an idea for a background, you can just make a plain background, or you can have fun representing the interior of a factory, a watch factory, etc.

AND TADAAA!!!!! You managed to make a steampunk character!!

You can be proud of yourself!
