Learn how to calibrate pen pressure and restore settings from the cloud.

■ How to calibrate pen pressure

Drawing with your usual pen pressure on the canvas will callibrate the pen pressure. Selecting [File] menu (or [CLIP STUDIO PAINT] menu for macOS) > [Pen Pressure Settings] displays the [Adjust pen pressure] dialog box.

Draw with your usual pen pressure on the canvas. Clicking [Check adjusted settings] displays the [Check adjusted settings] dialog box. Draw on the canvas and adjust the pen’s pressure to your liking.

Click [Stronger] or [Lighter] to adjust pen pressure detective levels.
Click [Complete] to apply this pen pressure setting to all of the tools.

(1) Show pen pressure graph
When turned on, the Pen pressure graph will display.


(2) Check adjusted settings
Clicking this displays the [Check adjusted settings] dialog box where you can see the pen pressure levels when you draw.


(3) Revert to initial settings
Pen pressure detective level will return to initial configuration settings.


(4) Pen pressure graph
Pen pressure detective level will display as a curve graph. You can adjust [Pen pressure] and [Output] by dragging the control points of the curve.


(5) If the [Check adjusted settings] button isn’t clickable even after drawing a line [Windows]
If the line isn’t reflecting pen pressure, you can change the supported tablet type to improve it. Clicking this allows you to select the tablet type. This will not display if a supported tablet is not connected.


(6) If using Wacom Stylus Pen [iPad]
You can also adjust the settings of supported Wacom stylus pens. When using a Wacom stylus, your dominant hand and hand position can be simultaneously set.

■ Check adjusted settings dialog box

(1) Stronger
The stronger the pressure, the bigger the change. This option is more sensitive to changes in heavy pen pressure.


(2) Lighter
The weaker the pressure, the bigger the change. This option is more sensitive to changes in light pen pressure.


(3) Show pen pressure graph
When turned on, the Pen pressure graph will display.


(4) Pen pressure graph
Pen pressure detective level will display as a curve graph. You can adjust [Pen pressure] and [Output] by dragging the control points of the curve.


(5) Complete
Commits the configured context in the [Adjust pen pressure] and the [Check adjusted settings] dialog boxes and closes the dialog box.


(6) Back to previous screen
Returns you to the [Adjust pen pressure] dialog box.

■ How to restore settings stored in CLIP STUDIO Cloud

You can restore any pen pressure calibration settings from the Clip cloud by running [App settings backup]. Use the following method. Before restoring any settings from CLIP STUDIO Cloud, make sure to back up your current settings.

Create a back up of your settings

Running Clip Studio will back up your current settings. Select the cloud bar.

When the [Cloud] screen comes up, select the [Back up application settings now] block. When the confirmation message is displayed, click [Yes].

Restore settings

1. Select the cloud bar.

2. When the [Cloud] screen comes up, select [Restore app settings] block.

3. This will display a list of settings that have been backed up.
Select [Restore] on any settings that you want to restore.
