Introduction & 3D Puppet Introduction

I believe that many people are very familiar with the upper body of the human body, especially most of them only take pictures of the upper body, but they are inexplicably afraid of painting the lower body or the proportions are always inconsistent.

At the beginning, I always started to practice by imagining the feet as a block structure, but I always grasped the wrong shape...

Believe me! You're not alone!! Any problems with long or short legs or odd proportions can be solved with the 3D puppets that come with Clip Studio!

In the material library, there is a free 3D human body model to make it easy for everyone to choose and adjust the puppets to their favorite proportions, and even some areas can be adjusted to the preferred proportions, such as the soles of the feet. But the movements that can't be drawn solve the problems of most of us!

So I won't go into too much detail about the proportions.

Here I mainly introduce the details and coloring methods about the lines of the feet

line art

First of all, since there are already 3D puppets to find the proportions and poses that you want to draw in the part of the line draft, it is very easy to line the draft.

But I will draw the lines thicker at the joints to increase the shadow and the sense of detail, otherwise even if the proportions are right, all the lines will be the same thickness, and the overall look will be very boring...

Plus here's a little trick! I also rub off some lines on the brightest parts of the skin, and it feels like the light is through the line art to make the picture more vivid.

Coloring

As for the colored part, it can be painted out of the line and slowly erased. Compared with using a paint bucket, the boundary of the line is not easily overlooked.

At the beginning, I chose the watercolor brush to create a layer at the bottom, and then created a new clipping layer on top to add shadows or light sources with watercolor brush strokes.

Of course, you can play differently if you want! !

Like this picture, I did not consider the color first and only used black, white and gray tones to paint shadows with a brush, which is also very convenient for beginners!

Then go to Layer > New Color Compensation Layer > Gradient Correspondence. Create a gradient coating on top of the coating, and you can adjust it to a suitable color tone while watching it~ Isn't it very convenient!

Finally, add a shadow to add a little light source and the rationality is complete~

in conclusion

According to the above method, you can freely change the body proportion and posture on the clip to draw all kinds of perfect legs in your mind!

Of course, the most important thing is to practice diligently, keep trying and have the courage to accept the challenge! I believe that you who read this article are also on the road to becoming a top artist!

Thank you so much for reading this article!
