I love pixel art and today, we are going to do just that in Clip Studio Paint or CSP. These are all the things we are going to make:

But first, we need to set a few things up.

Setting things up

So first off, we are going to go into the pen tool and go into Sub settings.

Then we will go ahead and select marker and select the brush dot pen. This has a fixed size only for pixel art.

Next Up, we are going to go into view and select grid. Then we will select grid/ruler settings and set the “Gap” and “Number of divisions” both to 1. We are done!!

Let’s begin with the first and probably my favorite art in this video. This house I found easily after a quick search on google. So I actually couldn’t record all of it as my I - pad ran out of storage but I did record quite a lot of it. Adding shadows is actually quite important and actually easy. So I take 3 to 4 colors, lightest, medium, darker, darkest and then I just add them accordingly. I could not copy this drawing one to one but it still looks quite good. I added sunlight and it turned out pretty good.

Next up, a tile. I liked this one too and I like it a lot. I love the way it looks, kind of like those wander around games. I actually painted a road, few pipes that I wanted to show connected. I made a few shops and some tables and houses and I also added a watch shop, some bushes and a pyramid and I decided to paint the road ochre yellow. I even painted a rainbow.

So now, I will show you how to paint buttons, there are 2 types of them – Plastic and metallic.

So all you need to do is make a square and make a smaller square having the same line with it at the bottom and then Paint that a darker colour and add highlights on the lighter button’s edge and you are done.

 

Same is for metallic buttons but the only difference is that there are diagonal highlights in it as well.
