IMPROVE YOUR ART! ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´- NEW EFFECTS VER. 3.0
Clip Studio Paint new filters ver. 3.0
The new version of Clip Studio includes new filters that will facilitate various processes and give your drawings a better look!
Today we will use the following:
RetroFilm
ChromaticAberration
Noise
We'll use the following illustration:
Here we have the illustration we’ll use, we can see a band at a concert in the sky!
Retro Film
To use this effect you have to go to filter>effect>Retro Film
As you can see, we can choose between various options:
Preset
Effect
Intensity:
NoiseStrength:
Presets
As you can see, we have 3 presets to choose from if we don't want to bother moving the options manually
The default option is " none ", meaning there is no preset and we will have to move everything ourselves
The following shows the effects of each preset on the illustration
①Vintage:Createsan Effect: SepiaLightleak(all) (I'llexplainthisbelow)
②Modern: Creates an Effect: Light Leak (slant)
③Warm:Creates an Effect: SepiaLightleak(slant)
Each preset does 3 things:
① Change Effect
② Change Intensity
③ Change the Noise Strength
① Effect
We have 5 effects to choose from:
Sepia
LightLeak(slant)
Lightleak(all)
SepiaLightleak(slant)
SepiaLightleak(all)
The following shows the result of each Effect in the Illustration (Intensity and Noise at 0)
② Intensity
Intensity is Retro Film's Chromatic Aberration
This characteristic is shown below at its highest level (100)
③ Noise Strength
As the name says, it increases or decreases the amount of noise in the image
this feature is shown below at its maximum level (400)
We can use a preset that moves everything automatically, or customize all these features manually to our preferences
This is the result after using Retro Film with my preferences
Preset:None
Effect:LightLeak(slant)
Intensity:0
NoiseStrength:0
(I decided not to use any chromatic aberration or noise as we will use them below).
Chromatic Aberration
To use this effect you have to go to filter>effect>Chromatic Aberration
Aquí también tenemos varias características:
Mode
Intensity
Angle
MODE
we have 2 modes to choose from:
Radial
Lateral
Radial (use center point)
Radial mode uses the center point to create the effect around itself, you can move it to modify the origin point of the chromatic aberration
In this mode, it is useless to move the Angle bar
Here I show this mode at maximum intensity (100)
Lateral (use Angle)
As the name indicates, the Angle bar is used for this mode (there is no point in using the center point).
Just move the bar to change the direction of the effect depending on the angle.
Here the effect is shown with the maximum intensity at an angle of -180°
INTENSITY & ANGLE
We can quickly explain these features:
Intensity: The more the bar is moved high, the more chromatic aberration will be displayed
Angle (only for Lateral mode): Moving the bar will change the direction of the effect in a range of 360 degrees
Here is the result after using the effect with my preferences
Mode:Lateral
Intensity:37
Angle:-127
(I duplicated the layer, applied the effect, and then erased what I didn't want to be seen with chromatic aberration, I just wanted the singer to have it).
Noise
Previously we needed to use the Perlin noise feature, play with the scale and other parameters, and modify the layer blending mode to obtain a noise effect.
But now it's much easier!
By going to Filter>Effect>Noise
we will be able to access this new function that allows us to create this effect more quickly
( • ᴗ - ) ✧
We find this menu with two sections:
Colormode
Noisestrength
We can use the noise strength to get more or less amount and density of noise in the illustration, in the mode section we have 2:
Color
Monochrome
Here you can see the difference between both modes, it may seem that there is not a lot of difference, but if we get closer we can see it clearly, both are at the maximum point of noise strength (400)
It's up to you which one to use ( ° ᵕ ᵔ )
Here is the result of applying the effect with my preferences
Colormode:Color
Noisestrength:42
FINISHED ILLUSTRATION
And that's it! we have added these effects to this illustration, giving them a more complete and cool look, I hope you have found it useful, take advantage of the effects to make your drawings look great (-ᴗ<˶)✧₊ ⊹
See you later!
