introduction

Hello this is a workflow for making webtoon with some tricks so you can make webtoons more quickly and easy :D

layout

First of all you need to create a new file i make them 1600x30000 so you can check the flow for your layout. for this example the file is 1600x8000.

 

The first step is to make a layout, this is the most important step, it needs to be the clearer posible

 

 

Roughs

After you are happy with your layout, its time to do the sktech this is a great time to use 3d models and photos for reference.

 

IMPORTANT

-References are your friends use them

-don't be a slave from your references

 

In this stage i like to draw the panels, with the frame border tool wich is great (maybe in another time i will go in depth with this tool)

LineArt

For the lineart i like to use vector layers, with the tools for handling the lines makes editing lineart so much easier than a raster layer, the line width tool are very useful

 

IMPORTANT: if you are making a complex drawing you can use vectors, the vector editing tools from csp are pretty good, you can narrow or thicken lines, redrawing and things like that :D

After the lines are done, next are the shadows

I make the shadows in a raster layer so i can use the fill tool

color

First you color with flat colors your frames

IMPORTANT: In another layer you finish your details with the tool "clip below" so your shadows dont bleed outside your flats

FX and Lettering

With the ballon tool and the manga materials included in clip studio paint ypu can make ballons very fast.

 

IMPORTANT: i used the saturated line for the "speed lines"

 

Last details

Some last details, color the lineart and put some gradienst to popup the drawings

IMPORTANT: for the line color i put a clio below and colored the line

Final result

This is the final result :D

Remember to experiment and trying new things that works for you :D

Publishing
