Introduction

Hi this is Garnet a Digital artist creating tutorial and providing resources to other artist that will help you grow! The FULL video is available to my patreons at patreon.com/garnetflame Patreons will be able to watch from the beginning how I draw the character and change her hairstyles.

I made a Drawing of a fantasy like girl. With three different hairstyles and Flowers. Watch my Youtube video so you can see how I draw These beautiful flowers to suit these different character and hairstyles.

Short CUTS!

In the video you will be able to see what short cuts I use At the bottom right in the gray window. This is a software I use so you can see what keys I am using. These shortcuts are the shortcuts I use all the time and they make my life 100 times easier and making art is so much easier once you get to know them.

These are some of the shortcuts I use.

[ make your brush size smaller

] make your brush size larger

E eraser

B brush

I eyedrop tool

/ zoom in and out with your pen (slide pen left zoom out, slide pen right zoom in)

H hand grab your canvas and move it around

R rotate canvas

R-Shift Center Canvas rotation straight

Ctrl-Z go back to previous action

Lasso and Layers

When you are watching the video you might notice that Lasso and Layers are my best friend.

Instead of using my brushes to draw shapes I use the lasso tool to draw shapes and fill them in with the bucket tool. Supper handy tool there are a few reasons why this is super handy. 1 what you have just drawn with your lasso tool is 100% opaque 2 get your work done faster!

Layers are perfect for flowers. Sure you can just draw them in one layer. But you are doing your self a disservice if you are just working with one layer. In the video you will see how I use layers for these 3 types of flowers to make the process a lot easier and faster.

Depending on the flower you have to organize it in different ways. The rule of thumb is what it onto is onto an what is behind goes underneath. It can be tricky at times I am sure you know this but once you master it you will be a pro.
