First off, I know! Bad joke in the title. :/

Anyway,,, I decided to make this Tips because it just popped into my head!

 

Let's begin!

Introduction

Sketch

Start with a basic sketch of the pot. You will probably have to re-sketch a lot, but that is the process of it all.

Line Art

After you FINALLY have your sketch go over it with the g pen for line art.

NOTE: Do everything on a separate layer!!

 

COLORING!!!

For coloring you may do the color palette on the same layer as the piece of the picture you are coloring. In this case, you may do the cactus color palette on the same layer you are coloring the cactus on. (Do the cactus and pot coloring on SEPARATE layers!!) Or you can do everything on a different layer it won't matter in the end.

 

To start, you must decide which part to color first. If you color the cactus first, the color palette you choose for the cactus will set the vibe for the picture. Meaning, the color of the cactus and the pot must work in unison together and vice versa.

 

 

 

 

OK SO TIME FOR ACTUALLY COLORING!!!! :)))))))

To start choose your color palette.

I am using the running color edge watercolor brush to make blobs on the cactus.

Then. use the wet bleed blender to blend the colors together.

Add more colors and keep blending until you are satisfied with your colors!

Move the layers around until the line art shows through the color

Erase any excess color around the drawing.

To color the pot choose another color scheme and color in the same manner you did the cactus (you can color the pot first if you want).

Erase excess color and both color palettes.

Finally, use the white g pen to make little white dots on the cactus.

You're done!
