Hello everyone, I am a middle school student from Taiwan. I have only studied Clip Studio Paint for a few months. I think it is an easy-to-use drawing software. I usually use it to draw comic characters. Today, I plan to come. Challenge the theme of this SkyDrawing "clear sky and starry night".

Part 1 clear sky

First, let's take a look at the finished product. The elements of the clear sky include these:

●Background

●The silhouette of clouds

●The main body of the cloud

●The dark and bright parts of clouds

●The sunny sun

●Sea surface and waves

●The clouds dotted with little flowers in the distance

Now we start to draw, each element will be drawn with a new layer.

Background color

Now we start to draw, each element will be drawn with a new layer.

Use the fill tool to fill the canvas with light blue as the background color.

Use the line tool to draw the reference horizon.

Cloud subject

Use the "round pen" in the dip pen to draw the outline of the big cloud.

Use the "soft" function in the spray gun to spray the sky with clear blue.

Use the gray-blue "Small Edge Watercolor" to paint in circles to draw the main body of the cloud.

shadow

Use "Shanbian Watercolor" again, choose dark gray, adjust the concentration to 70, and add the shadow of the cloud to the bottom right of the cloud.

The shadows of the second and third layers, in the same way, repeatedly deepen the shadow on the lower right of the cloud.

Use the "Color Blending" tool to select an appropriate brush size, and blend the main body of the cloud with the shadow.

Bright part

Use the "dense watercolor" in the watercolor tool, choose white paint, adjust the concentration to 70, and draw an arc on the cloud outline as the bright part of the cloud.

Using the "Color Blending" tool, adjust the pen density to 70, and paint under the bright part just painted to make it blend with the main body of the cloud.

Then use the white "dense watercolor" to draw a small arc in the middle of the cloud outline to create the effect of "cumulus cloud layers". After that, mix the colors again.

Add a new layer, press "Crop with the next layer", and lightly spray light yellow on this layer to create a bright light effect on the clouds.

sun

Next, we are going to start drawing the sun.

Use the highlight function of the airbrush tool, the brush size is 300, click the same point, and slowly draw the halo of the sun. Then reduce the size of the brush to 70 and click the center of the circle to complete the body of the sun.

Sea surface

Use the "soft" function in the airbrush tool to choose cyan and light blue to create a sense of depth on the sea.

Use dark blue "dense watercolor" to draw ripples on the water. Then use the "fingertip" function in the color blending tool to drastically paint left and right to create the effect of light and shadow in the water.

Use the airbrush tool (bright part), use bright blue to embellish the water waves, and adjust the layer to "highlight color (glow)".

Go back to the water surface layer, use the airbrush tool (soft), select blue-gray, to give the water surface a feeling of different shades. Then use the "fingertip tool" to paint left and right to create light and shadow in the water.

Little cloud in the distance

Finally, using "Small Edge Watercolor", draw small clouds in the distance of the sky, and then use "Color Mixing" to modify the clouds.

In this way, we have completed a beautiful clear sky!

Part 2 Starry Night

In the second part, I share the painting method of Starry Night, Starry Night contains the following elements:

●Foreground of trees and grass

●Starry sky

● Galaxy

●moon

●Meteor

●Water surface and reflection

Trees and grass foreground

First use the night sky in the gradient tool and drag from top to bottom to draw a blue gradient as the background color.

Then use the curve to draw the land and fill it with black.

In the material library (Clip Studio Assets), you can download brushes for grass, stars, and leaves.

Then, we drew some grass silhouettes above the land.

Use a dark blue G pen to draw the trunk.

Use the leaf brush to paint black and blue leaves.

Starry sky

Use the starry sky brush and use smaller particles to draw distant stars.

Then zoom in on the particles one by one to draw larger stars, so that the stars have a sense of depth and depth.

Galaxy

Using the airbrush tool (bright part), use bright blue to draw the shape of the Milky Way.

Then use the color blending tool (blur) to blend the colors just now.

Then, change it to purple, dark blue, and pink, and spray and mix them again.

Lower the opacity so that the color just now matches the sky.

With the starry sky brush, set the mode to highlight color (glow), embellish the galaxy, and reduce the opacity to 70.

moon

Use the ellipse tool and hold down the SHIFT key to draw a round moon.

Add a new layer, click "Crop with the next layer", use the "oil painting flat brush" in the thick coat, choose light blue, draw the pothole on the moon, and reduce the transparency of the pothole.

Adjust the size of the eraser and click on the moon to create a gap in the moon.

Use color blending (blur) to blend the colors on the edge of the moon to create a hazy moonlight effect.

Next, we add a new layer under the moon, draw a semi-transparent circle, and use the blur tool to blur the edges of the circle to make the moonlight.

meteor

Use the line tool to draw the trail of the meteor in the sky with white.

Add a new layer and press "Crop with the next layer" to add different colors to the meteor.

Then use the color blending (blur) tool to paint the shooting stars to create a gradient effect.

Go back to the straight line layer and smear the tail color of the shooting star to create a blurry effect.

Finally, change the layer of the straight line to "Highlight Color (Glow)" to make the meteor brighter.

Using a white G pen, draw the head of the meteor.

Reflection

Select all the layers of the sky and press "Combine selected layers" to merge them into one layer.

Then copy the layer, use the rectangular selection tool to select the middle section of the sky, copy and paste it, and a layer of the middle section sky will be automatically added.

At this time, we use Edit→Transform→Invert up and down to make this layer a reflection.

Move the reflection layer down to create a horizon.

Add a new layer and draw a white straight line. Then use the color blending (blur) tool to blur this straight line to create the light effect of the horizon.

Use the blur tool to smear out the meteors in the reflection and blur the reflection.

Add a new layer, highlight the layer, and use transparent watercolor to draw water patterns on the water. Then use color mixing (blur) to create a hazy effect on the water surface.

Finally, display the grass in the foreground to complete this romantic starry night.

These two paintings only used some basic techniques of Clip Studio Paint to show satisfactory works.

Clip Studio has quite detailed usage lectures and various learning resources, so that beginners can get started quickly. I believe that choosing Clip Studio to study, whether it is for hobbies or future work, is quite helpful.
