♥ Hello everyone! I'll show you how to make a clean lineart for beginners! And then show you some CSP Tips that can help you! Let's go !

Preperation

1 / First of all, do your sketch!

Make it large enough to avoid zooming in as much as possible if there are small details when inking. For beginners, I advise you to do a very clean sketch to make it easier for you, otherwise you risk being lost!

2 / Prepare a folder for the layers of the sketch!

You will be able to see it in the video, I made a file for the sketch. It can help you to see what the lineart looks like without the sketch (by hiding the folder) without having to hide them one by one each time (especially if you have a lot of layers for your sketch).

3 / Choose your pen / pencil and the color for inking.

CSP has a multitude of different pens and pencils. For beginners, you can turn to the G pen or the realistic G pen.

For the color, you can choose the one you like but prefer dark colors such as brown or black.

(For my part, for inking, I took the "darker" pencil and for the color, I took brown)

Inking

4 / Ink!

Do it slowly and calmly. Feel free to redo the stroke as many times as possible until you like! You can do your stroke all at once or use curves. Or like me, "hatching" then "cleaning" as you go.

5 / Play with thicknesses, add details that will make the difference!

The thicknesses allow you to give a little "character" to your lineart, do not hesitate to go back to a specific area during or after finishing.

You can also accentuate the "connections" between the different zones like the example below.

Now let's move on to CSP TIPS!

1 / Choose a good format for your illustration!

The ideal is to use a square format between 2000 and 5000 px and between 300 and 350 dpi (resolution) for a clean and clear rendering.

For my part, I used a 3000x3000 px and 350dpi square format.

2 / If you tend to shake when inking, go to stabilization and put "100". (Your line will be much straighter and cleaner).

3 / Do not hesitate to turn the sheet to refresh your eyes and see what is wrong. (Do this as often as possible)!

4 / You can also use the vector layers which are very practical for inking if you have trouble with the normals! They allow, in particular, to erase superfluous lines.

5 / If you want a thin enough lineart for small details or the like, choose brush sizes from 4 to 10.

However, pay attention to the resolution and format!

If the resolution is low and the aspect ratio too small, your lineart will be pixelated as you zoom in for details.

Conversely, (so if your resolution is high and if your format is large) it will be difficult for you to ink your sketch because the brush will be much too fine.

But if, on the contrary, you want a strong enough lineart, give preference to brush sizes from 15 to 25.

Again, pay attention to the resolution and format! Especially if the resolution is low and the format, small because your lineart will be very pixelated, especially when you add details, the rendering will not be at all clean and clear!

6 / You can use the "Correct line" tool at the bottom of the toolbar to refine or thicken your line to give it a little character.

Conclusion

And There you go ! Hope this Tips will be useful to you!
