Illustrating Lo-Fi style
Hello, I'm Alejandra Viana and in this video I want to show you my process to create a Lo-FI effect illustration in Clip Studio Paint.
Create the canvas
My process begins with the creation of the canvas for this occasion I will create one of 3000 by 3200 pixels
sketch
This will be the sketch I will use for this illustration.
Color test
I decided to do a color test to define the palette that I would use and what colors would combine better, for this palette or as a reference for this palette I used images that I found on Pinterest with colors that served me according to the retro or Lo-Fi style.
Lineart
For the Lineart I used the textured brush as it gives the effect I need, I tried to make the line with different thicknesses and choppy.
Color
For the color I only used the same reference colors that I had put in the color test, some of these colors I made a few small corrections
Shadows, Lights and Details
After the color I created a new layer with the Multiply effect, in this I made the shadows and in an additional layer with the Lighten effect I made the lights and finally in one more layer with the Add Brightness effect I made the details.
To finish I exported the illustration as a png.
LoFi effect
In a new file I insert the illustration that I saved earlier.
I will modify the saturation and luminosity a bit in this illustration.
I will then give it a Gaussian Blur effect which I will leave at 7pt.
Added a new layer and to this one I give a Perlin Noise effect.
He lowered the opacity a bit and combined it with the original illustration.
Then I will duplicate this illustration 3 times and add 3 new layers, one on top of each copy.
To each of these layers I will put one of the RGB colors, the first from top to bottom will be blue, then green and finally red, I will put the 3 layers in effect multiply.
I will combine them each with their respective copy of the original and once combined I will put the lighten effect on them, I will place them below the original layer.
I will move each of these layers with the transform tool, for this I will use the keyboard moving each one to the side or down.
In this step I recommend testing until you like the result.
Combined all 3 layers with the original.
To finish, create a new layer with an Overlay effect, this layer will be purple or blue.
Lowered the opacity a bit until I like the result.
This is how we finish our Lo-Fi style illustration.
I hope you like this video and thank you very much for watching.
