Presentation of the software

Hello good evening, I'm Angela Sasara and today I'm going to show you how I color my drawings perfectly and how I improve them.

Since I don't have a stylus to draw on the software like the majority of professionals, I usually draw on the hand sheet, film it, send it to the computer and color it with CSP. So I use my 02 Clip Studio Paint and Gacha Club software as usual.

Setting

We'll start by opening the software and clicking on 'Paint'. After the new work window appears, let's go to the 'File' tab bar and click on 'New'. A window like this will appear.

Adjust the page as you wish, the dimensions, the color of the paper, the name then confirm by pressing "ok". So you will have this:

Setting up the drawing

To color our drawing, we must first make some changes beforehand, that is to say, merge the image into an inner layer. To do this, we will import the image by returning to the "File-import-image" tab and import the image you want and here is my image:

I adjust my image to the screen and I get this:

Now you have to blend the image on the first layer "layer 1". In this case, we are going to deactivate the paper layer by pressing on the eye, select the image layer, right-click and select "merge to lower layer". So you will get this:

Now we need to highlight only the line drawing and not the background of the drawing. To do this, let's go to the tool palette and select the "eyedropper" tool and pipette the layer plane, then go to the fill tool and select the background of the drawing, you will have this:

As you see not all of my drawing came out so to change that we go to tool 'fill' - 'tool property' - 'tolerance' and set the color range to consider as the same color. So we will again have:

Reactivate the “paper” layer.

COLORING OR FILLING

Let's do the actual coloring.

Tip: if you have an image that you want to have the same colors, you can simply insert it and using the eyedropper select the color to use and fill it.

This is where the real stuff starts, I'm going to show you some options of the "fill" tools to better color your drawing. You can also follow the link:

-The Fill tool can be enlarged or shrunk depending on the reference fill range. In this case, it is recommended to separate the layer and the line drawn for the filling, and to arrange the layer to fill under the line drawn. (Since the area to be filled extends inside the drawn line, if the drawn line layer is below it or if the filling is done directly on it, the line will be thinner.)

Enable "Area scaling" in the Fill tool and specify the extended range with numeric values.

Select [Towards darkest pixel] in [How to zoom]. (For [Scaling Method], click the + on the left in [Area Scaling] as to open the menu.

-"Gap Closure" is used when filling inside a drawn line, if the line is broken, the color will overflow. If [Gap Closing] of the [Fill] tool is enabled, areas inside the line can be filled even if there are small gaps between the lines.

The numeric value represents the size of the gap. Smaller gaps will thus be considered closed.

-"Follow adjacent pixel" is a valid option when another color is present around the area to be filled. When [Follow adjacent pixel] is enabled, the selected area is colored until it touches areas of different color. If [Follow adjacent pixel] is off, the colors of the selected position will be considered as the range; the entire white area will therefore be filled.

After a lot of work, I finally got this:

Added enhancement effect

With the drawing complete, it's time to add a suitable background to it. I will also decorate my drawing with some gacha characters, and finally, finish my illustration with the "decoration" tool to add some effects. Here is my work:

Pretty isn't it? Now, you just have to export your work in "File-Export" and choose the export format

NB: for the addition of the decoration, remember to create a new layer above all the others, so that the patterns will be all your illustrations.

Thank you for following me and don't hesitate to like / like and leave comments if you like it more or if you have any questions ^_^
