YEHIEL

Hello everyone

My name is Yehiel, and I am a longtime user of Clip Studio Paint.

Today I will tell you about my method to draw fire and flames.

I know there are many ways to do this, but this is my way and I find it very convenient and simple to use, so here we are.

1- General form

Draw the general shape of your flame.

I usually use the [lasso fill], I find it very convenient for this.

2- Shades

Add warm tones (or cold if you're into it) to your flame.

I usually use the [gradient] tool for this, you can also use a soft brush or the [soft airbrush].

Here in the example, I added a shade of red from below and yellow from above.

The best way is to open a layer above the flame layer, and attach it to the layer below it with a clipping mask.

This way you can lower or raise the opacity according to your convenience, or give the layer an add glow effect or any other combination method you want.

3- blurring

This step is optional, depending on your preference.

To get the feel of the moving flame, I like to blur the flame,

Especially if my drawing is made of ink and color fill, the blurred flame above the ink will give us an effect of movement.

The way to do this is very simple.

Go to [filter], [blur], [gaussian blur], as in the attached image.

4-areola

Take the [soft airbrush] in a warm yellow/orange color, and draw a large circle on the layer above the flame.

Set the layer to add glow and set the opacity to the intensity that is convenient for you.

Remember, to get the perfect effect, you need to put the flame over your ink,

This way the best effect of the flame will be obtained.

that's it !

Your flame is ready.

Hope you enjoyed my tip,
