Introduction

Hello, I'm Namu Cloud and in this tutorial I will teach you how to make fluffy and soft clothes to warm your ocs and others using this example drawing :)

Step 1: Know what I'm going to do

To begin, after the sketch, we will draw everything as we always do, taking into account which garment we want to be furry. In my case it is the area marked in red, that is, the shirt.

It is necessary to keep in mind when drawing the garment that it should look wide, so the lines will be round and large with respect to the subject, try not to make the clothing too tight.

Step 2: Start the transformation

Now we will begin to trace the lineart of the desired garment with an irregular and pointed line as shown in the following examples:

Why two options? Well, these will influence when we paint our drawing.

Option 1: It allows us a better and more dynamic finish but when using the bucket as many of us do, it will create a mess, so it would be mostly manual work at least until we cover each gap.

Option 2: It gives us a greater advantage when using the bucket unlike option 1 since it is a stroke without cuts (this does not imply that it must be a single stroke, just worry that there are no spaces between Yeah)

This mainly applies when drawing the exterior lineart, I recommend using option 1 for interior folds.

The option you use will depend on your taste, at the end of the day both will look equally good, in my case, I will use option 1, which would look like this:

Step 3: Base Colors and Details

Once the base color has been applied, we will draw some “Hairs” that stick out from all the edges in the following way:

Keep in mind that it is as irregular or illogical as possible when drawing these hairs, they can be a set of 2, 3 or simply 1. Also vary the length of each one.

Make them as widely spaced as possible like the example below.

Step 4: Finish the drawing to your liking

Now you can feel free to color and shade like you always do!

Things to consider:

- Keep in mind that it is a soft garment, so do not make pointed or rigid shadows, follow the curvilinear shape.

- Feel free to apply step 3 as you wish on the area of the garment, not just on the lineart, and try applying a lighter color, representing possible reflections on the garment.

- Remember not to overuse the airbrush, try to apply hard shadows with some soft edges.

Feel free to experiment!

Gratitude

I hope this tutorial has been useful to you and you can apply it to your drawings! :)
