Part 1: Using 3D objects for your Fantasy Backgrounds
Intro
Hi, in this 3 Part tutorial I will go over the process of stylized fantasy background creation, for uses such as creating video-game assets. I hope that this tip will assist you in your artistic journey.

Creating Your Very own 3d Assets
Clip Studio is compatible with any 3d object in the (.obj) format. Just about every 3d creation software can export files into the (.obj) format for your use in clip studio.
Additionally Clip Studio offers a free 3D Data Setup Tool software called CLIP STUDIO MODELER. It has many features including:
1. import 3D data and configure 3D objects as materials.
2. switch textures, set up movable parts, and change rotation.

Importing 3D objects
First we must create a new illustration file. To get a high quality, please set your dpi to the highest resolution your computer can handle. For most people that is 144 dpi, so that is what I will use for this tip. I want a square-like landscape for my project, so I'm setting my resolution to 1500x1300px.
To export:
1. Select [File] menu → [Import] → [3D data]
2. In the dialog box, select the 3D you want.
3. Use the operation tool to change the perspective of your 3D object to your liking.
The great thing about 3D is that it saves you from a lot of the guesswork with perspective. With a piece of your scene being 3D you save a lot of time in drawing drafts, because instead of drawing everything, you can just re-position and re-frame the 3D object.
Below is a picture displaying the 3D object manipulator panel. You utilize it by pressing your 3d object with the tool property [Object]. Press each icon to learn about it's features. Have fun!
Tip! - When viewing your 3d object editing turn on the 2nd parallel light. You do this by clicking on the eye. Use the tool property [Object] to do this.
I'm satisfied with the orientation of my object so now I will use to make straight lines, and a pen.
The brush I use is Dami Pen 4 B (It is my favorite pen to use for sketches) -

Use the curve tool to draw curves, or use a higher stabilization of your brush to make curves.
Sketch the landscape of your imagination. This is my first draft so I will change pieces later on.
TIP! - change the expression color of layers to easily identify the main visual elements.
