Hello and welcome to a new tip of Clip Studio Paint, dedicated to our creations and today! Today I'm gonna show you the process of lineless character in CLIP STUDIO PAINT, for this, we'll create the cartoon animal with storybook style like this:

1. Draw and Fill

We starting to rough sketching the character, then with structures and finaly with clean sketch. It does not have to be a perfect lineart, but has a definite and clear lineart for our illustration

 

1.1 Fill with Bezier Curve

We use the Bezier Curve tool and the property we choose to ''Create Fill''

We create a layer as our base to make the fill of the illustration. The advantage of the bézier curve is that it is smooth and precise, and it helps a lot for our illustration later

2. Color

We look for references of our character, such as photos or drawings and with a eyedropper, we draw pictures with the colors that we will use to color our character

With the Color Set, You can add color to the frames to record them and use them later

2.1. Color Layers

Create a Folder Layers and then "adjust to bottom layer" towards Base layer

Finally we will create layers for each color to paint

3. Shading

In the process of shading, we create a layer to paint a cel shade on one of the body parts to define.

We can recolor the lines according to the color to harmonize

3.1 Brushes

We started using the Paint Brushes to create good shading and have better results

In each color layer, we block the transparent pixels and paint according to how the character's lighting goes

4. Refine

Finally, to finish with the illustration, we begin to combine all the layers of the drawing to make a single layer, and with the indicated pins, we will draw, detail and stylize the edges
