Hi , I am PaperHill. This time I am going to share how I create my cute pixel style characters with clip studio paint .The process is quick and simple without any drawing skill needed. Everyone can do even you are new to digital art.

Step 1:

Open a new canvas and set it as 1200x1200

Step 2:

View> Grid /Ruler setting > Grid setting :Gap 100, No of division 4

Step 3:

View> Snap to Grid > Then tick "Grid" on to show the grid on the canvas.

Step 4:

Tool > Ruler > Symmetrical ruler > Then click the center point of the canvas to divide it into 2 parts equally.

Step 5:

Tool > Figure Tool > Rectangle ( I am going to use rectangle Tool to draw instead of brush )

Look , how cool is the symmetric function! Also, snap to grid automatically line up the strokes along perfect horizontal and vertical lines.

Step 6:

After finishing outline , set outline layer as reference layer , then open a new layer below for colouring.

 

 

Step 7: Colouring

• I like to prepare a palette with my favourite tone by side.

• Fill background colour with fill tool.

• Use Rectangular tool to add shadow and lighting

 

It is easy to be adjusted to create other character family ,

and also for making animation.
