For this tutorial we will learn to draw hands and gestures

To draw a hand we must take into account the following points:

to. The hand is the part of the body with the most bones and joints

b. The fingers are divided into three parts with their respective joints

1. To start with the drawing of a hand we have to draw a circle to this figure we will divide it into four parts, this will be the base where we will build our hand.

2. Then we will draw an oval in one of the divisions, said oval to be located in the space where the thumb will be located and it will also depend on the position of the hand.

3. We will outline the profile of the palm well with the difference that we will cut a little on the sides.

4. As a next step we place the two fingers on each half of the palm and we will use our own hand to see the sizes of each of the fingers.

Note: remember that I told you that each finger has three parts the thumb seems to have only two parts with the naked eye, but this is not the case since its first part is born inside the palm of the hand, that's why I told you that They will draw an oval in one of the quadrants of the initial circle.

5. And last step, we outline the outline of the hand well and that is all we have the drawing of a hand.

6. This step is always repeated, everything will depend on the posture of the hand.

7. For this tutorial, use my own hand as a model, but you have many references on the internet, practice these techniques and you will notice a significant improvement in your drawings.

In this second part of the tutorial I will give you some tips for drawing gestures for your characters.

The eyes, eyebrows and mouth are the fundamental part for any gesture since any change in them can make your drawing have a meaning in each of your illustrations.

1. Start by drawing the outline of the head in the position where you want your character to come out and divide it into four parts.

2. Draw some eyes, mouth and nose base in this part of the drawing it is not interesting to go into detail what matters is knowing where the eyes and eyebrows will be located, we will draw the nose with a line and a small leftover at the end where they locate the nostrils.

3. Let's try changing the inclination of the eyebrows, this greatly changes the mood of the character.

to. Sad face

b. Happy face

d. Surprised face

4. Once you have the mood for your character we go into detail with the drawing, if you pay close attention the base of the drawing of the head remains the only thing that changes in the position and posture of the eyebrows and the mouth.

5. As a last tip, practice these gestures with different head positions.

Gestures help us to visualize the mood of the character, but when we add a hand to this, this gesture is enhanced.
