Color base

Before I go to skin tinting, I first want to talk about how I select the colors I use.

First I choose the tone I want for the skin and from there I select the shadow and the light, all based on the "base color". The way I do it is as follows:

I move the "COLOR OR TINT" area up or down, this depends on whether I am looking for light (up) or shadow (down). Once I did that, I move the file diagonally. Why diagonal? because in this way I am changing at the same time the VALUE and SATURATION of the color, this makes the colors more vivid.

We start with the base color (A), as you can see the base color of the skin and everything in the drawing I divided it into different layers, I like to do it like this to have more control, but you can do it however you feel more comfortable in one layer or in many like me.

Soft shadows

Now we add soft shadows (Color B), in my case create a new layer on top of each skin layer and "adjust it to the lower layer" (in the image in which it is in the celestial circle) that way when shading I would not get out of the original block.

Add these shadows by changing the Opacity of the brush to 34% to make it softer and thus be able to darken areas as felt.

Then blur the strokes as much as you like, you can use the brush that you like the most if you are interested, I use this brush to blur:

(The configuration of this can be seen in the "blush" step)

Shades

For the harder shades I followed the same "soft shade" process with color C.

Blush

Now I add blush in the areas that I think will look better, I don't have a real reason I just know that I want them to be there. examples: blush of the cheeks, in the ears, men, elbows, knuckles.

Light / Brightness

I add light or shine (color D), just a little because I don't like it very much, but it certainly gives it a lot more life.

Reflected light

to finish I add reflected light that in this case is reflected from the dress, I add it subtly so as not to saturate the image, definitely this is my favorite light it gives a special touch to the final result and the best thing is that you can find it everywhere, in in this case, place it on the neck, face, arm and hand.

Final score

Finally, I hope that some of what I showed has helped you, that you can use it in your art, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to leave a comment, I will gladly try to help.
