If you are a beginner artist, working on a comic, webtoon or illustration, and don't have the time or want to learn all that perspective gibberish, here is how I draw vehicles quickly and accurately with no fuss.

Using 3D assets

I know, I know. You've heard about using 3D models before, but have you heard about this amazing tool on CLIP STUDIO EX called LT Conversion.

Here is how I use this tool for my vehicles.

Using 3D assets step 1: Get 3D Model

Get a 3D model you want to work on. Here is mine.

There are two ways to get 3D assets for your work.

One method is through the Clip Studio Asset store.

I prefer this method, as it directly syncs and downloads the model into your Material tab.

The next best method is to purchase your 3D model or find a free one.

http://sketchfab.com is the only website I use because you can see the assets rendered properly before you download it. This especially helpful when you want to color the vehicle later on.

If you choose to download your model from an online source, make sure it is .OBG or .FBX

To use your downloaded model simply drag and drop it into your workspace. Like this.

Compress then drag and drop, this will automatically attach the materials of your model to the 3D object.

Using 3D assets step 2: Extract Lines

Now that we have our 3D model, we can extract the lines.

Make sure you have the vehicle staged as you like, you can also tweak the lighting.

Click on this button to open up a LT Conversion dialogue box.

① Click on the preview button.

② Select either vector or raster, I prefer vector as I can tweak the line width. The line width allows you to also see more or less outlines.

③ Change to "Process of Edge Detection 2" as this method is suitable when a more delicate expression is required.

④ To have less detail increase the "Line curvature" to 10

Here are some additional stylistic options; these are not necessary, but great to know about.

⑤ Click Depth and contort your curve to look like mine (this is curve I always use in my art). The Depth option allows you to create lines of varied thickness. I love this option as it lets your vehicle look almost stylized, and the lines have perfect gaps in them.

⑥ You can "Smooth" out your lines to get rid of some of those random dots.

⑦ I leave the posterization at the default settings but please check out this link for more in-depth look on the different button. If you still want a short quick tutorial comment below. https://www.clip-studio.com/site/gd_en/csp/userguide/csp_userguide/500_menu/500_menu_layer_lt.htm

Now click 🄾🄺 and marvel at your perfectly lined vehicle.

You will see a folder containing the line art and the tone work.

If you want a tutorial on how I colored my vehicle in a Retro Vintage style using the Tone Work, comment below.
