how to paint and draw flowers
Hellooo! In this tutorial I will teach how to draw flowers and the way I paint them.
Also some tips to make the details in the flowers.
Let us begin!
petals
There are different types of flowers, we can search for references on the internet to support us in the structure and colors that we can use to make them.
The petals can be of different sizes and textures, when drawing them we can base ourselves on geometric figures such as triangles and rhombuses.
When drawing the petals, if we want them to have a wrinkled or delicate texture we can use the "liquefy" tool and play with the types of options there are.
Example of how to do it:
1.First we draw the guide for the flower.
2. We make the sketch by drawing the petals based on the green lines.
3. We make the lineart.
(Inside the flower, I added the stamen for more detail)
With the "liquefy" tool we click where we want the petals to be deformed, we can play with the different options to deform.
Flowers with different perspectives
In the previous example the flower was seen from one perspective, in this part I will show examples of how it can be drawn from another.
(The red lines represent the limit line of the petal.)
It is not necessary that the petals have the same measurement since in real life the sizes of the petals vary a lot.
(In this part we can use the "liquify" tool)
Other examples:
This is a perspective view from above.
Also instead of drawing triangles we can draw a circle as in the other examples.
(The rhombuses are the sketch of the petals)
Perspective from the front:
Perspective seen from the front (top):
°(Each petal is joined with the red line that marks the center)
(Depending on the flower we can draw more petals)
Color
In this part I will show how I color the flowers with the previous examples.
1. We put the base colors.
(We can use the fill tool)
2. We put a color that matches the color of the flower.
(It can be in any part of the flower, in this case I put it inside and outside)
3. We add a layer, put it in "multiply" mode and lower the opacity a bit.
With the base color we outline a little the lines of the petal and where a little shadow is produced.
(We can also do it with the other color we added)
4. We add another layer and put it in "Add" mode or in whatever mode you prefer to add light and lower the opacity a little.
(We paint where the limit of the flower is or where we think light can be produced)
Other examples of coloring
(In this flower I put two different colors on the base)
Another example:
(To make it look deeper we can add another layer in "Multiplication" mode)
And finally we add shine.
End
This is the end of the tutorial, I hope it has served you and I hope you can put it into practice.
Thank you for reading!
