I am Chengling from Taiwan

While thinking about the theme of this call for papers,

It's December day,

It is rare for Taiwan to have a cold wave

After Christmas, New Year's Eve is about to begin.

So this year, we felt the cold wind coming early.

I don’t know if it’s because of the cold

I always want to eat warm food to ward off the cold

So I just want to eat hot pot and enjoy the brightly lit night view

combined

We conceived the concept of "Lights-dotted scenery" where you can enjoy hotpot while enjoying the lights.

01First I focus on the round window frame

First use the Ellipse Tool to pull out a large ellipse

Because after all, hot pot is a common Eastern dish

So overall

It will be more inclined to show the background of Chinese style elements

02 Draw the scenery outside the window and the composition of the branches in sequence

And add lanterns hanging on the branches

 

 

03One of the powerful functions of CSP

It means having a rich material library

I downloaded a free Chinese style 3D round window frame and lantern respectively

Apply it to this painting

(Thanks to the creators who provided free materials!)

04View the whole

I found that the lantern on my table seemed a bit too big

So use the [Selection Tool], circle the part of the lantern, and then reduce it

The other supporting characters have also completed line drawings

Next let’s color the lantern

I used [Linear Fill] of [Gradient Tool]

Pull 2 linear gradients

Reuse the [Dip Pen] tool

Strengthened the overall shadow of the lantern

To present its three-dimensional effect

05 Fill in another background color for the lantern

Increase its weight

Because lighting effects will be added later

06From my own material library

Choose a white orchid material

Add a decorative touch to the lantern

Because orchids are also one of the common elements in Chinese style

Use the same material

Make good use of deformation, enlargement, reduction and adjustment of its position

This will give the orchid the visual effect of surrounding the lantern base

 

 

07Photographic material purchased from the Internet-Chinese Architecture

To apply on the background

Use CSP’s powerful [Filter Tool] [Effect] [Illustration Style]

Convert the original building photos into line drawing and coloring style illustrations

Very easy and convenient

 

 

08 Fill the branches with coffee background

Add the shadows in sequence

Finally put the excess part

Use the [Selection Tool] to select and clear it

09From CSP’s material library

Downloaded a free lantern material brush

It is also very easy and convenient to complete the lantern hanging on the branches

To be careful of

Adjust the size and hanging position of the lantern in a timely manner

Too many will be crowded

Too little may not show the warmth of the lighting scene

The next step is to use flower material brushes

Draw a few flowers on the branches

10Then let’s add a little bit of snow to the branches

Adds a touch of winter

Choose a gray dip pen tip

Follow the upper part of the branches first

Draw what it looks like covered with snow

Add lighter colors of gray in sequence

Finally, enhance the white gloss

Show the thickness of the snow

11In the colonnade part of the building

Hang up a row of red lanterns

Go back to the lantern shape brush

Arrange the lanterns in order from small to large

Create depth of field and a sense of perspective in buildings

Finally use the round gradient tool

Pull out the lantern's proportionally sized halo

Arrange them in order on the position of the lantern

This completes our glowing lantern

12 nights must be dark enough

In order to show the brightness of the light

Let’s select one of the basic materials that have been downloaded in the CSP material library

【NIGHT SKY】material for this effect

Come and paste it where the sky is in the background

Increase the effect of dark night

13 Finally come as a lantern

Create warm lighting effect

Choose a large round [Gradient Tool] - warm yellow and then layer white

Enhance the yellowish warm lighting

14 is the hot pot and food tray on the table

Also apply a layer of linear gradient halo

Use a white water-dipped pen tip on the 15th part

Modify the shiny surface with details
