Hello! I'm Velenfi and on this occasion I want to share 4 tips that could help you on the way to perfecting your lineart ✨

Making lineart when you are just starting out drawing can be a little frustrating, the lines tend to have little presence and be brittle, the good thing is that everything can be improved and this is no exception! (Cheer up ^^) So I'll start with this little tutorial:

Tip #1

Choose a brush for the lineart

Something that is essential to obtain good results when making the lineart of our illustration is to choose a favorite brush for that, I use the pen called “G real” but there are many more in the program.

I feel that having a default pen to do the lineart can help improve it, since you will already know what the texture and finish of the line is like with that brush.

Tip #2

Use the vector layer

This layer is located next to the normal raster layer, (it has a cube inside) attached image:

If I could describe this layer in one word it would be:

Edit ✨

Making your Lineart on this layer will give you the option to edit the thickness of the line, redraw the line and one of my favorites is to connect, making hair on this layer can be very useful, especially to connect the ends of the hair in a way. fast and efficient

To use these functions you just have to go to the line correction sub tool.

Tip #3

Check the sensitivity of your pencil

Go to the clip studio logo in the upper left corner and you will find the “pen pressure settings” section

A graph will appear showing the sensitivity scale your pen is set to! Now you just have to draw lines with different pressure and choose the sensitivity that you like the most.

Tip #4

Lineart exercises

This is something very basic that everyone should practice (even the most advanced draftsmen) it is very simple, at least make lines and circles before starting to draw, this will serve to loosen your hand and have better precision, try to do these exercises without resorting to the stabilization offered by brushes.

Tip #5

Activates stabilization

And speaking of stabilization, activate it when you want to do Lineart! The range varies from 0 to 100, I generally use half or a little less stabilization because it is what suits me best, but each artist is different! So find out how much stabilization you are comfortable drawing with.

That would be all! I hope some of these tips can help you improve your lineart!
