5 Tips To Create The Best Workspace!
Introduction.
Hello!
Welcome, aspiring artists and digital creators, to my post for the tips of the month!
While this may be my first time creating a tutorial, I am fueled by a deep desire to empower others on their creative journey, especially beginners!
Throughout this tutorial, I will be sharing 5 tips that I think are the best to know when creating a workspace that works best for you!
This tutorial will be useful for both Tablets and Personal Computers/Laptops!
So, without further ado, let's unlock the potential within and embark on this exciting tutorial-building endeavor together!
Here are 5 Tips To Create The Best Workspace!
Tip 1: Choose Which Palette's you are going to use most!
When you open Clip Studio Paint for the first time, you will be introduced to the default mode when it comes to the workspace interface, and being a beginner, it can be hard to navigate the software.
Luckily Clip Studio has made it simple for us to customise according to personal preference!
This is what you will see the first time you open Clip Studio Paint.
As a beginner it is understandable to feel a little lost so I recommend just trying to unpack all the available palettes so that you can see what the default workspace mode offers you!!
To unpack all the available palettes all you need to do is click and drag it anywhere on your available scene, from there there will be a separate window that you will be able to resize or move around!
After unpacking all of your palette you will have a clearer view of what the default mode workspace offers you!
I think that from the default mode, the pallets that I will use are:
1. Tools
2. Layers
3. Materials: Downloads
4. Colour Set
5. Layer Property
6. Tool Property
7. Sub Tool and
8. Color Wheel.
If you are going to work on Illustrations these are more than enough, especially for beginners.
But I thin that there is a better way to create your perfect workspace!
So go ahead and close all of the palettes that were in the default mode!
Don’t worry, there is a way for you to add them again!!
Tip 2: Arrange Your Palettes!
After decluttering it can bring ease to beginners. You can now start creating your workspace that fits your preferences according to what you will be using Clip Studio Paint, be it for manga creation, illustrations, or animations!
To make a palette appear again, all you need to do is navigate to the panel that says ‘window.’
Once there you will see all of the names of the palettes that were available for you in Default mode, and more!
To Add a palette all you need to do is select the tool and it will appear again on your interface!
You can move your palettes and ‘clip’ them to the sides of your interface so that you can collapse them and open them again whenever you need!
You can put palettes under each other for easy access and interchange between them when you need them. You can also resize the clipped Palettes so that they fit perfectly to your screen!
In the end, this is how I prefer to have my workspace!
On the left I like having:
1. Tools
2. Subtools
3. Tool Property
At the top:
4. The Command Bar
On the Top right:
5. Layers
6. Layer Property
7. Sub View
And on the bottom right
8. Color weel and
9. Color Set.
Tip 3: Register Your Workspace!
After Creating your workspace the next thing you need to do is save it!
Saving your workspace makes things a lot easier for beginners, you won’t lose any of the applications you have made to your workspace!
To register your workspace all you have to do is:
1. Go to window
2. Workspace
3. Register Workspace
After you have named and registered your workspace it will be ready and available to use any time!
Tip 4: Customise Your Command Bar!
The command bar is the best place to place to find quick access to all your tools or functionalities. It is easy to customise and I recommend making the changes that you need to make using Clip Studio Paint a smooth and easy experience!
To customise your command bar all you need to do is navigate to command bar settings!
From there you will be able to select from a variety of Menu Commands, Pop-up palettes, Options, Tools, Auto actions, Drawing colors, etc, to make your experience using the software as smooth and manageable as possible!
Tip 5: Get Workspace Templates at The Clip Studio Asset Store!
The Clip Studio Asset Store is a treasure trove for digital artists, giving us access to many assets that have been created by users of Clip Studio!
If you feel like you’d like to try a few workspace templates as provided by your fellow creator, I invite you to visit the store to find the best workspace for you!
In the Search bar, just type whatever it is you might be looking for, in our case, we will type ‘workspace’ and then click okay.
You can download any of the items by simply clicking on them!
Please take note of the instructions indicated on the material as it can sometimes only apply to a specific version of Clip studio.
If you are sure that you found what you need you can simply download it and apply the work space to your interface by simply dragging it from your ‘Material: Downloads’ Palette!
I have added the asset here for you for easy download! Please feel free to use it!
Conclusion.
I sincerely hope that you've found value in this tutorial!
