Welcome to the head drawing tutorial. Here I show a method on how to draw a masculine head and also coloring and shading in about 31 steps. Have fun!

^ (1-12) It's best to start with a circle and gradually use auxiliary lines to build a structure of the head and visible body, which you then gradually expand with details. The lines can also be chaotic. This is the first sketch to help you organize your ideas.

13. After the auxiliary lines, a new folder is created for the lineart. Now you can work a little more neatly depending on what effect you want to achieve.

14. I like to add extra lineart on an extra layer, which gives the drawing a feeling of depth and weight.

15. Then fill the inside of the line with color for coloring and adjust the lineart a little if you like.

 

 

16. Now the character is filled with colors.

17. I like to give the lineart a color gradient for a feeling of light and liveliness.

18-20. Preparing the layers to add shadows.

21. I like to use different red and orange tones and test them on the character.

22. Apply the colors roughly where the shadows could arise.

23. Now you can blur the colors and blend them together.

24.-27. Repeat the steps almost the same for the light incidence. I usually like to use yellow tones.

28.-30. For more shine and depth, I like to use the ‘Add’ layer effect. The steps are again similar to before.

For more contour, I like to use pink and white as highlights. This makes the character more visible and stands out from the background.
