Have you ever felt confused about where to start clothing design?

 

There are several things you can consider if you are confused about where to start

1. Theme

let's start with the theme, what theme of clothing do you want?

for example a winter theme? casual? Lolita? nobleman? etc

 

By starting to estimate the theme, this makes it easier for us to know the beginning of the design that we will develop

for example, here I want to try a theme autumn, cute, added with a little magic effect

or start with something simple, like a summer theme

After knowing the theme, the next step you need to do is collect references and data regarding the themes you have chosen and want to use.

2. Choose the type of clothing

Choose the type of clothing, here we need to choose an initial design before we develop it later. What kind of clothes do you think you would choose?

 

For example, if I want to design women's clothes that are feminine and mature, I will make clothes that look neat and long skirts that give the impression of maturity.

and for the base of the summer theme, I will make a sleeveless dress and cardigan with thin material

3. Develop a design

develop a design, try changing your design to be different.

but you don't have to change everything, change which ones you want. because basic clothes are also part of the support to support the striking parts of the clothing. for example, a plain t-shirt as a complement to the jacket design you made

4. Accessories

try adding accessories that make the design more unique!

Match the accessories with the theme you choose to make it look more beautiful

Here I added a beret hat as a complementary decoration, a bag with a potion hanger, a moon necklace and a star motif on the jacket for the magic impression that I wanted to give a little. I used ribbons in the design to give a cute impression

for the summer theme I added a summer hat, a shell-shaped bag and also several other accessories that fit the summer theme

5. Color

color. This is one of the factors that determines the uniqueness and beauty of your clothing design!

 

You can choose colors based on the theme, for example autumn clothes with a brown, orange, etc. But you can also get away from the color theme, making your autumn clothing theme pink, blue or black.

Here I give the impression on the skirt of a color gradation that depicts falling leaves in the autumn season

for the summer theme, the color theme tends to be bright and lively, then I also put a star pattern on the bag so it has the impression of a starfish

6. Adding textures

adding texture, here I usually add the impression of stitching or pleating depending on your design. You can also use patterned material available at Clip Sudio Paint if you want the clothes to have a pattern
