Hye guys this is my first tutorial. It is for beginners like me all the complicated stuff(like anatomy) is not here. Even if you don't know how to draw you can use this method to draw portraits. Hope it helps.

Before beginning, I would recommend that you have the picture of the result you want to have in the end (in your head that this what I want my portrait to look like) it helps a lot once that set you are good to go.

Sketch

You don’t have to know the anatomy to draw the portrait if you can draw simple lines that is enough. Start with the basic outlines of your drawing using geometrical shapes then add more details as you go.

Flat Colors

Once you are done with the sketch add whatever color you like (nope you don’t need any color theory for choosing colors for your illustrations) and if you are confused to use complementary colors that way your portrait won’t look muddy or dull.

Light & Shade

Choose the light source and its direction then begin shading from the opposite direction from the light is coming. Using different blending modes can make a huge difference it really a cool feature of CSP that you can use for light and shading(I used glow dodge blending mode for sunlight effect and it turned out so good and normally multiply blending mode is best for shading). The L recipe for shading is best it helps to pick the right color

Finishing Touch

The assets of CSP are huge it has all you need. I used a pattern brush to add checks on the skirt and flowers print for the shirt it turned out so good. The background is also made with the help of a brush. It is the best technique for quick portraits.

You are done

Thank you for reading hope it helps. I know portraits are complicated to draw and it has so many steps and mine is just about the first steps
