Knowing the color tools
Color is super important in the visual medium, it helps us to convey many things, such as indicating what time of day our character is in, even the mood in which he can be found.
For this reason Clip Studio Paint has several tools that make the process of selecting colors simple and easy for us.
In this article I will show you how to take advantage of each of the color tools that we find in Clip studio Paint
Color palettes
The color tools are located in the "Windows" tab From this section we can activate the windows that fit our working method.
These are the windows that we can find:
Color wheel
This tool is the main one when working with color. We can easily select the desired color using any of the HSV and HLS modes. We also find three color icons, two of them allow us to store two selected colors in memory and we can change between them using the "x" shortcut, the third slot allows us to activate the transparent color, which is very useful to use any brush as draft.
You can also double click on any color icon to access its settings, a window will open in which you can select colors in any of the three color pickers and you can also access color history and custom palettes.
Color Slide
This tool is similar to the color wheel, and they share features like color icons.
In it we can select a color using several bars that can be moved from left to right to adjust a color using one of the three available modes: RGB, CMYK and HSV.
Color Set
Here are the color palettes, we can select an existing palette, create our own palette and we can also import and export the color palettes.
Intermediate color
It is a grid with four colors in each corner, we can vary the colors of each corner so that the grid shows the intermediate colors of each one of them.
We can change the size of the grid in the window options.
Approximate color
It shows us a grid with the approximate tones of the selected color, in which we can adjust two bars to which we will designate the parameters that we would like available, such as value, saturation, among others, and thus have better control of the approximate colors than shows. This window is very useful when we want to be very precise when selecting a color.
Color history
Here we will find a grid with a register of the colors that we have used, this grid can be changed in various sizes.
Color mixing
It is a window in which we can paint and create mixtures between various colors as if you were using a real color palette. Here you can also save your own colors to use later.
