Have you ever wanted to create a sky full of clouds without downloading a new brush pack?

In this tutorial, I will teach you how to use what you already have in Clip Studio Paint to create unique cloud shapes from scratch.

Please note that we will be working with raster layers for this tutorial.

Step one: To start, you need to make a background for your cloud as shown here: This is a square canvas with a gradient background.

Step 2: Create a new raster layer over the canvas so that you now have two. One for the background and one for the clouds.

Step 3: to make a cloud shape you will need three tools:

1. The lasso tool

2. The Transparent Watercolor Brush

3. The Fingertip blur tool

Step 4: On your second raster layer (above the first one), select the lasso tool, and draw a rough shape on it resembling a cloud.

Step 5. Choose the paintbrush to fill in your shape. In the example, I have chosen the translucent watercolor brush and some light colors to give the cloud that luminous look.

Additional Options:

• Deselect your cloud and use a blur tool. I used a fingertip blur tool to simulate wind moving through the cloud

• Add more puffs of cloud along the top and sides of the cloud with the transparent watercolor brush

• Make use of the copy and paste option for a sky full of clouds or

• Use the clone stamping tool for an overcast sky.

Step 6: Choose a darker color to shade your cloud. Clouds like this usually have a darker side underneath to indicate they are carrying water. Take the brush with the darker color and swipe it on the bottom of the cloud.

And you're done! Enjoy! Here is my completed cloud: I hope you like it.
