For that occasion, we have compiled Crysta's official TIPS and FAQs, as well as information to the extent that the author can explain.

 

The author publishes about 100 Crysta materials in CLIP STUDIO ASSETS, but I sometimes receive inquiries like the above.

I wrote this article to solve the problem as smoothly as possible so that you can enjoy using the materials!

 

Of course, this article does not cover all troubles, and there are also troubles that depend on the personal terminal environment.

*Since the author mainly publishes brushes and image materials, there is no information about 3D or pose materials in this article. Sorry if you were looking for that information.

 

 

[1] Materials cannot be downloaded! FAQ to check first

While I receive inquiries, many of the causes of failure to DL or add materials are

・Christa's version was old

・I made a mistake in loading the material.

If the above FAQ does not solve your problem, please check the following!

(1) Do you have free storage space?

(2) Are you logged into your Christa account?

"Download failed. Check the communication status. 』

"The specified material cannot be downloaded because it has not been purchased/obtained."

 

If the above message appears even though there is no problem with the communication environment, please check the login status of the web browser.

If the account logged in with the web browser and CLIP STUDIO is different (or one of them is not logged in), the material download will fail.

③ Check security software

This is a fairly past example, but it seems that the download of the material may fail due to the operation of the security software.

 

• It is not recommended to change the security settings at your own discretion.

"If there is a high possibility that this is the cause, I think it's a safe bet to contact the official support and carefully check the response."

[2] If you can download but cannot add to the sub tool

(1) Whether the update of Crysta has been completed successfully

There are cases where the version upgrade was not completed correctly and the addition of materials failed.

If you think, "I should have downloaded the material, but I can't add it!", please refer to this.

(2) Could it be... isn't it an image material?

There are times when "I thought it was a brush material but it was an image material".

Please check the material palette for the "type" of the material you are trying to add.

 

If the name of the downloaded material or usage example says "brush", but only image materials are recorded, it is possible that the material registered by the material creator is incorrect.

At that time, please tell the producer of the material.

 

 

 

The following is a checklist for when you get "I can download the material, but it's different from the usage example!"

[3] If the downloaded brush does not draw well

If you can't use the brush for the first time according to the usage example, you tend to think, "I don't know what I don't know!" Recognize….

 

First of all, let's read the "Description of the material" and check how to use it.

 

The following is an inadvertent episode that Christa beginners tend to do. Please check just in case ◎

(1) Is the drawing color set to [Main color]?

"I can't draw!... I thought, but I chose a transparent color. Ehehe!"

Occasionally. understand.

Choose your main color (the black square in the image).

 

Also, some brushes use both [Main color] and [Sub color].

"The color of the line drawing and the base will be the same, and it will not be possible to draw correctly."

"Choose a color that matches the brush you use."

(2) Does the expression color of the layer match the brush?

"It's a grayscale (or color) brush, but it was drawn on a monochrome binary layer."

It's common when I'm drawing comics. You will be surprised when it turns black.

 

Since brushes have various characteristics, there is also a completely opposite pattern, such as "I drew a monochrome brush on a gray layer."

 

Let's change the expression color to the recommended one in [Layer Property].

③Is it not possible to draw on the layer?

in particular

・Layer mask

・Layer lock

・Layer hidden etc.

 

Accidentally hit the pen tip or press a shortcut key.

If it is like this, you can not draw with the brush, so please cancel it.

[4] If there is an abnormality in the display or drawing, such as the brush becoming a black circle

・Palette display bug

・Incorrect material data

I'm guessing one of these is the cause.

 

If there is no problem with drawing on the canvas, "Change palette display",

If the drawing on the canvas also becomes a black circle,

① Re-download the material

(2) "Reconstruction of material database"

③ Reinstall CLIP STUDIO

Either of these may solve the problem.
