How to make a fairy tale illustration

Hello creative minds! For the tip of the month, they chose the theme: Fairy Tale. We are going to draw an illustration that has a lot of magic and tells us a story with which we read in our childhood. I will show you my process from the idea to the final illustration.

Brainstorming

Let's start drawing some sketches because I had no idea what I was going to do. It's good to start this way to be able to explore different compositions so take your time to see which one you like best. Remember that it does not have to be perfect but to explore to see which one works best.

We'll paint!

Here's the sketch and we're going to create a new layer below the sketch. Remember to lower the opacity of the sketch layer before you start painting.

I will use the lasso tool to start painting each of the elements of the illustration. Make sure each element is located on a layer.

You can start painting the details of each object. Tip: I recommend using the clipping mask tool as it allows you to paint the details without modifying the original layer.

Here is the finished illustration but we still need to add the touch of magic.

final touches

First, with a purple color we will fill the entire layer to change the atmosphere of the illustration. This effect will make the illustration feel like it's night and thus make the fairy stand out as she is the focus in the illustration.

For the "magical details" I will use a combination of brushes that you can find in the Decoration folder. Make sure you put the layer in Glow mode so it glows and gives off sparkles. On the wings use the Glitter brush to give it that magical touch.
