Well, normally we use facial expressions to show the emotions of the characters. But eyes expression is necessary to complete the whole picture.

It is necessary to mark the test subject well as the following picture to show different expressions. So I made these sketches to show you different expressions.

So, I choose 4 emotions to show the expressions through the eyes.

As you can see, my style is to draw a small eye and big eyebrows, but you can make any eye you like depending on the character, their age, and their characteristic appearance.

I choose angry, happy, sad, and scared to show expressions through their eyes.

The eyes depending on the emotion can follow a pattern. In anger, the pattern is frowning brows, narrowed eyes, and muscles around the eye marked and darkened.

The same thing happens with happiness. The eyebrows without tension, the lower part of the eye slightly contracted by the smile, the eye open.

With sadness, following the arrows, we can see the eyebrow contracted towards the upper forehead, slightly closed, and watery eyes, shiny with tears. The lower part contracted.

The most difficult is scry expressions because there are so many factors to show. Is a little mix of the 3 emotions we saw before.

We can see the eyebrow contracted towards the upper forehead as if it were sadness, but more trembling. Eyes wide open and small pupils. Part slightly contracted and shadowed as in angry emotion.

This is how all of them look finished. Never forget that no matter the type of eye, their expression is directed by the muscles of the face and the path of the emotion you want to show.
