Clean and comfortable workspace

Before I start every drawing I always start with a comfortable workspace. Working in a clean workspace gives me a little boost in making my digital art. Everything I need is in here it’s actually a personal preference.

Choose your favorite pencil brush

A Mechanical Pencil brush (Clip Studio default brush) is my go-to sketch brush. I only tweak the brush tip, thickness, and stabilization and that’s it.

Background Color

I first change the color of my background to a grayish color because a white background is vital for my eyes. I use the fill tool to change the color of my canvas on a separate layer, you can also change it through the main background layer. Most professional artists do this too.

Basic Shapes

Using basic shapes in your art really makes any drawing easier. It’s really essential to know some of the basic fundamentals of digital art.

Finishing touches

Little by little by doing the instructions above you will eventually finish your art. It may not be that much but it’s straight to the point using basic shapes in your drawings learning some of the fundamentals, and choosing your favorite sketch brush. Keep on practicing and enjoy doing digital art.
