Creating the sketch

Create a desired outfit design for your character, it's best to use reference designs for the outfit that you wish to create.

 

I recommend creating 2 or 3 outfit designs, my sketch though, is the desired outfit design that I will be using.

Making the lineart

After the outfits design is done, next is to do the lineart as well as add any final touches to the outfit.

Finished piece

Finally add the colors in, I recommend coloring below the lineart, but after the colors are in place you can export it as is or... color it some more by adding shading and lighting.
