Introduction

Hello everyone, my name is Fhilippe and I will present you a step by step on how to light a sword!

first step

This is the sword I drew and I will use it as an example.

Then, I will darken the background, as the light is more evident in a gloomy setting.

Next, I will use the layer color dodge mode and illuminate using an airbrush tool, using a strong blue color.

 

right after that I paint some energy effects and do them in an upward direction.

In the next step I will decrease the opacity of the layer, making the energy weaker, using the blur tool I spread the energy.

After this step I use a particle brush and add shine around the sword.
