Hi, Today I am gonna show you step by step making glowing hair on your character.

It's quite a simple tutorial, I try to explain every detail and tools that I used. so you can learn quickly and efficient way.

All tools are original from Clip Studio Paint, so you don't need to worry about getting more tools by the way.

Well, let's go now...

1) Making Pose

First of all, make the pose. Well, I am planning to make a beautiful girl hold on her hair and look at us. I am using (Mapping Pen brush) to make the pose line. you can use the same, or any brush you like.

Make the POSE as your first layer.

2) Sketching

Next step is making the sketch. I have lowed the opacity of the pose layer into 50% in order to make me easy in sketching. I sketch her hair and the part of her faces like eyes, nose, lip, and her cloth. Make this as your second layer. if you are done with the sketch, Merge your POSE layer and your SKETCH layer into one layer. It'll make your inking step become easier.

3) Inking

Go inking now. just take thin line don't too thick. I using (Mapping Pen Brush) again for this. it's a good pen brush to make the thin and thick line as your pen pressure sensitivity command. You can see, We have 2 layers now. The SKETCH layer and INK layer. Turn off your SKETCH layers to make your work ready to coloring step.

4) Coloring

CAUTION:

Make the color layers separate each other. It'll help you much in future action.

1) GLOBAL COLORING

After your Ink ready, make the background in dark color. The dark color will help your object more Visible. Put the background layer on the bottom. make new layer again to take the next step.

I use Cream color for coloring the object. I put it above the dark color layer I mention above.

2) CLOTH COLORING

Next, coloring the cloth. I use pink color to make the object more girly. Don't forget to make a new layer again. I mention all the layers at the of this tutorial, you can see them if you want.

3) HAIR COLORING

Now, color the hair and take (airbrush soft brush) to make an iridescent color effect. I call the color pallet with (Candy) Pallete. You can use it if you want. Yep, make this at new layer again.

4) SKIN DETAILING

Now, go to the skin layer and make up the girl. Just make her beautiful as you want. Use (Airbrush Soft brush) to make a soft gradation and use (Mapping Pen Brush) to make a sharp and solid line.

5) CLOTH DETAILING

After the makeup is done, make the girl cloth more valuable. Detail the cloth using the same brush I've mention (Airbrush soft - Mapping Pen). Make a new layer for this step.

6) HAIR DETAILING

Well, It's quite an important step. you have to decide the shadow at the hair. I've mentioned some tools in the picture. I use pastel purple as the basic color. and then turn the color mode into multiply mode. it gives you transparent darker color. it's also adjusted with other colors. use (Airbrush soft - Mapping Pen) to shading at this part.

5) Liven Up Your Canvas

We arrived at the main part of this tutorial. I use 2 brushes to liven up this painting. What is (Airbrush soft - Airbrush Hard).

The basic color is Tosca. Decide the glowing part and hit them all. Turn the color mode into Glow Dodge. Also, make reflection at the skin and cloth cause it'll make your object harmony and not separate each other.

6) Play Glitter Around

Some people love the glitter effect, and I love it. So I added the glitter effect with (Glitter Circle Cross brush) to full fill that expectation. I used Tosca color as the basic color for the glitter. I change the color mode into Glow (Add). It'll give you glowing and more spread of glow, that's beautiful. then, add more glowing hair and glitter reflection effect.

7) Focusing Glow

here I'll make the center of interest object. Use the basic color I've mention (Dark Blue) to take a dark part in your painting. use (Airbrush soft) and turn color mode into multiply. Done, your character getting more attention it makes everyone focuses on the glowing part now. The arrow is the multiply area. And yeah, make this as your top layer.

8) Layers

Hmm, there are 18 layers in total. 15 layers for Coloring, 1 for Ink, 1 for Signature layer, and 1 for Sketch. I named them all so you can read them easily. You can also read every colors mode that I used.
