In this tutorial, I'll show you how to draw a cloud like summer.

About the pen

Since it is a tutorial about the sky, we should start by setting the drawing time, but this time we will make the blue sky and white clouds that will be the basis so that it is easy for the first time to draw the sky.

There are four main pens to use, all of which are included in Clip Studio Paint by default.

The first is "Dark pencil"

The second is "coarse watercolor."

The third is "Gouache familiarization"

And at the end "paint & familiarize"

"Dark pencil" is an ordinary pen. I will use this time when I want to emphasize the shape.

"Coarse watercolor" is a very rough pen, and the color becomes darker depending on the pressure applied and the layering of the touch.

"Gouache blending" and "painting & blending" are used not to put color but to stretch it.

The texture of "Gash-Familiarize" becomes smooth and smooth, and the color of "Paint & Familiarize" spreads smoothly.

Before you start drawing

Before you start drawing, let's set the shortcut key!

If you do this, you can quickly switch between pens and work efficiency will be improved.

 

First, select "Shortcut settings" from "File".

The following screen will appear. Select the pen you want to use and click "Edit Shortcut".

 

Then, you can type letters with the keyboard, so type in other keys that are not used for shortcut settings. I assigned "coarse watercolor" to "A" and gouache familiarization to "S".

Click "OK" to close the tab and the shortcut setting is complete.

You can use the pen as soon as you press the assigned key.

By default, Clip Studio assigns a pencil to "P".

Paint the sky color

Now it's time to draw the sky!

First of all, apply light blue to the entire surface.

Next, let's apply a dark blue color to the top with a gradation

Next, create a new layer and make a rough cloud shape.

The points are colored with the image of drawing circles of various sizes.

Next, let's make the place where the light hits appear white

It is drawn from here. Roughly blur the shadows and draw in the bright side.

After that, I simply draw the surrounding colors, draw, blur, draw and blur. Let's continue patiently.

I will draw sharply with a pencil on the edges and places where the light is strong

Processing

When the shape is organized to some extent, adjust the color by using the layer composite mode such as overlay.
