Hello everyone.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to make blackboard art-like illustrations using the tools of Clip Studio Paint.

The theme of the welcome board is the New Year soon! So I will try to draw the theme of the New Year's greetings.

Drawing chart

1) Paint the color (background) of the blackboard.

First, color the background color that will be the blackboard.

Specify the RGB value (29,84,63) of the color close to the actual blackboard with the color slider, and fill it with the bucket tool. It was

2) Draw with a chalk brush.

Introducing the brushes used for making. ----------------------------------------

[Chalk brush]

This is the default brush that comes with Clip Studio Paint from the beginning.

It is categorized as "Tools" pastel → "Sub tools" chalk.

If you can't find it, you can download it (free of charge) here!

The default brush settings are sufficient, but if you adjust the brush density lower according to the pen pressure, you can express the chalkiness.

This time, I will color it later, so I draw it in one color, white.

1. 1. Draw a frame.

You can easily draw a straight line by clicking the start point, then holding down the Shift key and clicking the end point.

Add decoration to the corners.

Add more frames.

2. Write the main greeting.

Paint the letters thickly to decorate.

I tried to express a three-dimensional effect by adding shadows to the characters with lines.

Add a festive decoration around the letters.

After drawing is complete, the next step is coloring.

3) Add color.

Add three colors to match the colors of chalk that are commonly used in school.

Add a new layer on top of the drawn layer and clip it.

First, let's add the pink color of chalk.

Pink: RGB value (247,171,173)

Add chalk yellow.

Yellow: RGB value (255,255,146)

The gradation part was blended with the "fingertips" of the "color mixing tool".

Finally, add the chalk blue.

Blue: RGB value (126,203,220)

4) Surround with white.

Add the border of the illustration with a white chalk brush.

Since the background (blackboard) is a dark color, adding white makes the picture brighter and easier to see.

Furthermore, the board is completed by adding the light-colored parts and the lonely parts of the decoration!

5) Incorporate into the easel.

I used this material for the easel.

Since it is a 3D material, you can create a board at any angle you like.

"Enlarge / reduce" the blackboard drawn according to the angle of the board.

Add shadows and light to the blackboard and easel.

Add the background and you're done.

Thank you for watching until the end.

We hope you find this tutorial useful.
