How to draw a glitter background with a blur filter
Introduction
I will explain how to draw a glittering background using the blur filter.
Prepare
First, prepare an illustration of a person.
I want to separate the background and the person layer, so save the person's illustration as a transparent png.
Open the person illustration file and hide the [Paper] layer.
(Tap the eye icon)
Then, I think that the background will be a checkered pattern.
In that state, select [File] → [Integrate and export images] → [.png (PNG)…] to export, and the transparent png will be saved.
Then close the original illustration file and open the illustration file saved in transparent png earlier by selecting [File] → [Open].
Then I think it will be like this.
Add a new layer below the people layer to create a white-filled background layer.
Save it there.
Select [CLIP STUDIO FORMAT] when saving.
Then the layers will be saved separately.
Now you are ready to go.
1. Processed into a person
Process the person.
Put the multiplication layer on the whole by clipping in the lower layer.
The colors used are displayed in the upper right.
Add an additive emission layer to it, select [Gradation] → [Drawing color to transparent color], and move the brush in the direction of the arrow to apply gradation.
Layer composition ↓ This completes the processing of the person.
2. Background
I will draw the background.
Select [Gradient] → [Drawing color to transparent color] and set [Angle step] to 90.
Move the brush in the direction of the arrow to apply the grade.
Draw glitter. Use the "Illumination Brush". Makes the layer additive emission.
The particle size should be around 250-350. The particle density was set to 3.
Duplicate this layer and select [Filter] → [Blur] → [Gaussian Blur] to blur. Reduce layer opacity to 32%.
Layer under the original layer. I think the outline was blurred and gave a soft impression.
I felt that there was little color, so I added a new layer and drew light. (Additional emission 27%)
I'm drawing with a slightly smaller brush size.
The color used is also darker than before.
Apply Gaussian blur in the same way.
Draw a splash. Use "Analog white splash that can be used for anything".
I used it with a brush size of 700, a particle size of 250, and a particle density of 3, but please adjust it to your liking.
(Illustration image size is 2504 x 1873px)
Move the brush while avoiding the face. This completes the background.
Layer composition ↓
3. Glow effect
Finally, apply the glow effect.
Select [Layer] → [Combine copies of display layer].
Apply Gaussian blur to it.
Change the layer mode to screen.
Select [Edit] → [Tone Correction] → [Level Correction].
Move the leftmost knob to the right.
Reduce the opacity of the layer to 22% and you're done.
Before glow → After glow
This is the end of this course.
