Hello, I am Poki or Pomui, today I will show you a very easy way to be able to fill your works with color very quickly with the help of the selection and the Close and fill tool, but this is more aimed at your drawings that do not have smoothed, this means that your drawing looks pixelated “Pixel Art”.

The Fill tool greatly helps us save some time when coloring the base of our work, but it will not always be possible to color some areas because the strokes we draw generate unreachable areas for the Fill tool, but Don't worry, today we will see how to get to those areas and also take advantage of this trick.

Layers and Folders

Once we have our Pixelated Lineart done, we will create a new layer, on this layer we will draw some lines, this to divide sections like the hair and the head, in my case I only needed to make five lines (the color doesn't matter).

Once this is done, we are going to move all the layers and folders that contain the Lineart (even the layer we created) to a New folder.

Now we will create a New layer which we will only use for the color, it is very important that this layer is outside the folder that we just created (New folder).

Selection

Now, on the folder icon, we will do the following combination: Ctrl+Left Click, as you can see the Lineart outline has just been selected. Ok, now we are going to Invert the selected area in the tab: Select, and now we see that everything is selected except for the Lineart.

Now we will use the Automatic Selection tool, but not before making the following adjustments:

Apply only to adjacent pixels: Yes.

Close Interval: No

Tolerance: optional.

Area scaling: No.

Multiple reference: All layers.

smoothing: no

With the help of the Automatic selection we will press: Alt+left click or choose the Selection mode: Delete from the selection, to delete selections that we do not want to be colored.

Filling

Now, to the Fill tool we will deactivate all its properties except the tolerance that we will increase it to 100.

Now we will click anywhere within the selection and that's it, as you may have noticed, even parts that are very difficult to reach and others in closed areas are colored, which even with the Fill tool configured correctly, is not usually colored.

But that's not all, you can also notice that by hiding the Lineart, the coloring will be divided into sections so it will be easier to color each part of our drawing.

This is when the Close and Fill tool arrives to take advantage of this trick, since we will only make a few figures to color each part of our drawing and that's it.

Thanks so much for watching, even though I didn't have much to show, it's really helpful and will probably help you guys.
