1- Clip Studio Paint technology for coloring

1.1 The first thing is to have our sketch ready.

Later we are going to start working in order generating a "Folder" exclusively to save our Sketch and not to be confused with the other layers that we will be creating.

1.2-

Next we are going to start with the coloring process, it is important that you always work with an order, for this it is important to follow the following:

1. Create a Folder named "Base Color" with its respective layer.

2. Select the Brush tool on the left.

3. Choose any brush to color.

1.3-

Placing ourselves on our “Base color” layer and with our “Brush” selected, we will proceed to -choose a color- to apply it to our character.

Note: we only need to place the color where we want it to be applied, we are not going to detail our character. Take a look at the image to get an idea.

1.4

Once we have applied the colors we want, we will proceed to return to our "Sketch" layer to place it as a "Reference Layer" as shown in the image.

1.5

Selecting the layer where we apply the colors we want, we will proceed to:

1. Go to the top left and look for the "Edit" menu.

2. Choose the “Color (Technology preview)” option.

3. Click on "Apply selected colors" (This allows us to apply the colors that we have in our layer respecting the edges of our sketch, therein lies the importance of having placed our sketch as a reference layer).

1.6

We will get a box that will ask us if we agree to Use a Clip Studio server, we will click on “Ok” and we will let the program work and finish the process without moving anything.

1.7

Once the process is finished, we will see that the program has created a layer with the coloring applied to all our illustration. However, this layer is always created above where we have our “Reference Layer”, that is, in the folder where we have our sketch.

We will also notice that the program automatically turns off the layer where we had our base colors.

In a quick and easy way we have applied color to our work of art. With this we already have a proposal to continue enriching our work.

The program creates soft colors (pastel colors) that can be further worked on. And the best of all is that by applying it to the backgrounds, we can create those beautiful “Bokeh” effects that we see in photographs.

It is only a matter of imagining the possibilities that we have and we will notice that there are no limits in its application.

We can continue to apply textures, shadows and lights to highlight certain areas and work our art in more detail. It depends on each one of us.

We will use this same illustration for the following process…
