Introduction

Hey, my name is Chi. I just wanted to share some tips that will help you design backrounds better such as a cozy space. Hopefully this will help building a back round a little easier.

Your character and reference photos

So before starting your process think about what type of person you character is. For example my O.C is chill, artistic, a music lover and creative. So I wanted to show that in her space. I also imagine her having like a boho sheek kind of style so I searched for some reference photo on Pinterest just to get some ideas. One of the cooler features in clip studio paint is you can upload and look at reference photos while you work.

Layout of your cozy space

It’s important to know where everything is included in your space and what you want included in your space. For example my characters cozy space is in her bedroom. So I drew a layout of it in my art book. It has a balcony, a bathroom door, a closet, a bed ofcoarse, some dressers, her art area, lights and things of that nature.

3D assets

Now is the fun part. Starting the process of building your space. As I mentioned in my video I did a lot of shopping in the asset store for his process. I love shopping in the asset store. Some of the things I got from the asset store was the canopy bed, plants, guitar, easel on balcony, art section, make up on dresser. Yo can find all of these in the links down below.

Things to remember

When creating a cozy space your creating a mood and a vibe. So maybe Choose some warmer colors and include things that will make you or your character feel comfortable. Thank you for staying to the end. I hope helps your process.
