In this post, you'll learn how to paint fire in different shapes, so it adds interest to your pieces! Let's go!

First, we'll start by making simple blobs. They will determine the direction and general shape of the fire.

We use orange for this part.

Then, carve it out - erase some parts and add form to it.

Make it sharp, that'll make it look more like fire.

Notice how there are large, medium and small shapes. This is important to make it more dynamic.

The one on the right side will be a spark, so it's much smaller and spikier.

Next, add yellow inside. This yellow will be closer to the center, because it's where it gets hotter.

After that, let's use Clip Studio's "Add Glow" layer mode and - you guessed it! - add some glow.

Since we're at it, let's also add some more sparks.

Now, there's a subtle step here. The yellow part is now slightly blurred. That's optional, but it can make it look even more like "glow".

Add red glow behind it. The layer mode is Normal, but using an airbrush, it looks like glow.

This is another subtle step, but makes a difference. Add even more glow, using yellow. The layer mode is Add Glow at 80% opacity.

To finish it, add particles - a bunch of them! They vary between yellow, orange and red. These particles will give life to the fire, that now looks much more beautiful!

That's it for today! If you have any questions, drop them in the comment or message me on social media - I'm yainedraws in all of them.

See you next time!
