Making hands can be really tricky especially when you have to make different styles like holding something, pointing at something or like ‘yo’ sign.

 

Here I will teach you how you can make hands in a very easy way.

I will be showing 3 methods to make hands each will be easy and require a little attention.

3 Methods to make hands

Using 3d Models

Both ver.1 and ver. 2 Clip studio paint users can make use of this method.

For this method you first have to set up a 3d figure, by dragging it from the right hand side materials tab.

You can manually set up each fingers by selecting each then using the lines to make fingers curve or move around.

OR

Another easy method is to use HAND SCANNER.

This method is exclusively for the CLIP STUDIO PAINT VER. 2.0 and beyond

upon making the shape perfect hit enter or select ok.

simply trace upon the lines.

and hand is made.

Make Simple Lines and circles as guides

Make lines that represent fingers and thumb

 

 

Lines represent fingers.

Circles represent joints.

Note: fingers has 3 joints and thumb has two

after making such rough layout add an irregular shape like an oval represent the palm of the hand.

slowly slowly you can see the pose of hand

start adding rough lines around it

don’t get sad if it doesn’t look good.

Remember the more practice and time you put in the better will be your arrtworks

now start tracing around it to make final lines.

add more touch ups and the end result should look like this.

Using irregular shapes

In this method we will use shapes instead of lines as guides.

start by making a palm.

For making a palm draw big irregular square shape.

around this palm start to add fingers.

By making roundish squres

where the squares meet will be the joints of fingers and thumb

hence make 2 square only for a thumb and 3 for a finger.

NOTE: I will be making this hand as if its holding something like a pistol

Here you can see that it has already taken the shape of a hand

Now with pen trace around it to make a rough hand

time to add finalize these lines

you can add more details as you please and take little more time to add finishing touch ups to it

spend more time on practicing and you will make even more fine and perfect hands
