INTRODUCTION

In this i will walk you through a few ways to approach hand drawings so you can enhance your skill set and create more confident drawings

 

hands are bit hard to draw. but ones you know the correct methods. and you can combine them. make your own methods. keep practicing. keep on tryin. i believe every one can draw. :)

TIP : palm and finger length is as the length of face.

START WITH THE BASIC SHAPES

As always start with the basic shapes. first we look how to draw hand and hand gestures using rectangle and tubes and spheres

1. its all about rectangle and tubes

2. start drawing the basic shape of the hand gesture you want to draw using rectangles ( you can use your hand as reference)

3.use the lines and curves to mark the flow of the fingers

4. draw the pipe shape using the lines as reference

5. draw sphere for foresightening

5. combine the spehere and pipes

6. clean the lines. refine the basic shapes and smoothen all the sharpen edges.

 

SHERE GIVES MORE DEPTH TO THE FINGERS.

one of the method i use when drawing hands is i simply consider my palm as a piece of bread. sometimes the finger as pvc pipe. after that it become real simple to draw hands.

also for keeping the proportion of hands you can use lines as depicted below.

TRICK: MOST OF THE FAMOUS ILLUSTRATORS USE LINE ART TO DEPICT THE HAND GESTURE. NOT IN A DEATAILED WAY . SO WE CAN SKIP THE SPHERE DRAWING STEP IF WE WANT TO. SIMPLY USE THE RECTANGLE AND PIPES .

TIP: LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO PUT SMALL EXAGGERATIONS INTO THE MOVEMENT.

TIP:

 

The separation between the finger is very diffrent in both side. we can look at our own hands for reference. AS SHOWN IN ABOVE FIGURE

FLOW AND GETURES FOR FINGERS

Not just for finger we can use curved line to give flow and direction as show in figure.

we can use inward and outward curve. also slightly cuvered line to show in which direction the fingers or hand in pointing.

TIP:DRAW KNUCKLE AREA AS IN SHAPE OF GUITAR PICK SHAPES

QUICK HAND DRAWINGS

After practicing the above methods it is very easy to draw quick hand gestures in seconds.

For when you need quick sketches and in story boards. youc can draw as depicted above.

it is very easy yet expressive. remember these things when drawing quick sketches.

 

TIP:

 

when drawing combine the middle finger and ring finger.sometimes the pinky finger also.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

SIMPLE CURVE LINES

draw simple curved lines to show in which direction the hands and fingers going it is a very usefull method

BRUSH AND PEN THAT I HAVE BEEN USED

I used the Real G- Pen and The Lighter ink Brush in these .

the lighter ink brush is one of my favourites..

it is very usefull if you are a beginner in digital art.
